My youngest was 5 when we went to the 3D Honey show at DL and when the huge spider started toward the audience, she was terrified. The rest of the trip she was trying to get on every ride she was tall enough for without fear. She loves Fantasmic and has never been scared by it even then. At that age, she did look away during the end of the film sequence just prior to the dragon sequence. Now with Murphy as the dragon, she, like the rest of us, just wait to see him. It's pretty amazing.

I would suggest that maybe you could watch it on YouTube and once you see what sequences might really scare your child, just distract them at those moments or just be ready to comfort them or both.

It depends on the child. My oldest son can't handle the loud explosions from the fireworks, but my younger boy totally loves the light show.

It's not scary, but it is very, very loud.

I don't think its scary, small children can possibly be overwhelmed if sitting close.
