DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget

Catching up on the latest Mice Chat updates and saw the lament that the Carthay Circle Theatre won't have an attraction inside of it. Is it even big enough to have an attraction in it? or just wistful thinking on the part of the author?

Author was smoking too much crack, or can't read (or both ). There was never an attraction planed for it and I think it is too small for any attractions since it butts up right along 2 attractions. If it weren't that the area was saturated in retail/food stuff they could have another store inside.

If I recall it will be used as an object that occupies space. Other than that I think it's just a centerpiece for the area.

A store like the one at Hollywood Studios? Wouldn't surprise me as the entrance will look exactly like (starting to already) the one at Studios...

Just checked the web again, it looks like it will be a dining establishment (though it goes between cafe and high end as well as a special "club 33" style place).

It will have to be something kinda small. The building just doesn't look very large in the construction photos.

It probably will be small, even if they build back a ways, since it would also need food prep areas and all. I'm guessing (out of the proposed places) they would go for the high end dining since there is already a cafe in the same area and they would only be able to handle so many people a day.

Now you guys won't have to walk very far into the park for your luncheon meetings!

Since reading about Carthay Circle, I thought it would be cool if they screened Silly Symphony cartoons there. It would fit the theming of the park. I also thought perhaps between cartoons, they could run "newsreels" (made to look like those of the '30s that used to be shown between movies) to promote other areas of the park.
Maybe even show Snow White there from time to time.

I love the Main Street Cinema at Disneyland, but I thought since there are only Mickey cartoons shown there, Carthay Circle could provide an outlet for the sometimes forgotten (aside from the attraction they just got ) Silly Symphony cartoons.

I would just have to convince the couple of holdouts to buy passes. The way we get them to come to DTD for lunch is that the places have full bars and we get discounts when we aren't using company cards.

I think the pictures might actually make Carthay Circle look smaller than it actually is, just like the pictures of the WDW Fantasyland Expansion do until you see an aerial photo of it all.

True, but the space where it's being built is not a huge lot to begin with.

Indeed, I think it's supposed to stretch up to the end of what use to be the center of sunshine plaza (where the reflectors were), the greenbelt that was behind the fountain was (judging by the satelite view in google maps) the only divider betwen it and It's Tough to be a bug. It's fine that it's not going to be an attraction since it is the main entry and they want you to come in and then get out of the area fast, like at the other parks.
