I have a feeling once you get to the various planet varaiations you won't notice the differences, kind of like how the randomizer in ToT isn't noticed as much as they may hype.

On Ricky Brigante's podcast- Inside the magic, he read a statement from Anthony Daniels, C-3PO himself, who said that there were 54 scenes with 3 scenes per ride and he said that even those can change... so who knows how many total combinatins there are.

At the start, there will be 54 different combinations. However, I gather the way the new system will work that they can take out scenes or add new scenes accordingly, so it will be easier to upgrade the new Star Tours compared to the old.

As much as I am looking forward to the new Star Tours- and I am, I will miss the little funny things about the queue, like calling for egroeg sacul and tom morrow.. And the landspeeder thx1138. I really hope that they have some things like that in the new one.

I'm hoping they'll keep the queue like it is, too. I love seeing the America Sings duck feet.

Some of the droids have duck feet because they're refugees from the old America Sings attraction.

I presume you're talking about DLR's ST and not WDW's ST as "America Sings" was never a WDW attraction.

I never went on the DHS version since it was the same ride, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had enough left over AA's to send for the other version of the ride. Always cheaper to recycle something expensive than to buy a new one.

I've always wondered about that, too. My guess is that they built ST at DHS to resemble DL, which is why the droids have duck feet in both places.

Droids with Duck Feet - go figure. Now I'll be looking for those on our upcoming May trip. There is always something else to spot at Disney World.

Here's a photo I found for you from DL showing the duck feet on the droid....
Image

Here is the accompanying copy...
Star Tours: Along the Star Tours queue, a G2 repair droid speaks to boarding passengers while trying to fix a broken down R5 astromech. The web-footed G2 is also named the Goose-Droid, because it is actually a stripped down Audio-Animatronic gander. Before finding a home at Star Tours, the G2 was once a part of the America Sings attraction, a member of the singing goose quartet.

Note: Other geese from the quartet have gotten to keep their beaks and feathers. They still sing, as part of the steamboat ensemble inside Critter Country's Splash Mountain.

Actually, most the audio-animatronics in the DLR's Splash Mtn come from "America Sings", including the two undertaker vultures you encounter before you ascend up to the final drop.
