Okay, I'm back with one of them. Isn't it uncanny that we were standing in almost the exact same spot, and took pictures at almost the exact same instant in the show....?

I think we're related ;) Actually I like your photo a tad bit more since the castle has a bit more illumination to it, plus you have that pretty confetti-ed firework in yours :D

Well, thanks. But I have to say that I like some of yours better than mine... so we're even. :D

Hey, next time we meet up at WDW we'll have to go around taking pictures together and compare! That would be a hoot!

Amy and F1gment ~ Day 12 conclusion
F1gment decided to go back to the hotel and try to warm back up after being out in the arctic chill all day. Plus she needed to get her things packed up for our departure in the morning. I decided to stay and take advantage of the 1 am park closing ~ I figured I could sleep when I got home!!

Some photos along the way...Plus I went for a ride on Dumbo :D

First stop...Toontown and a ride on Goofy's Barnstormer, and a tour of Mickey and Minnie's houses. Silly me, I had forgotten Toontown was on the chopping block or I would have taken more photos :( I do have a few more though. Again, if there is something you really hoped to see, just ask!

I got kicked out of the Haunted Mansion for being too lively, so Yo-ho, Yo-ho, a Pirate's Life for me....they've got better ambience anyhow ;)

It's a Small World after alllllll...but not a lot of takers this evening...

I took a quick flight over London with Peter Pan and then made my way over to Snow White...

A quick visit to Pooh...it was so cold the honey was frozen in place and not dripping!
Image

The Monster's last show was already over so I decided to go see if Buzz Lightyear still needed any help. As luck would have it ~ he did! It was sooooo cold this evening. I didn't even bother taking my headband and hood off when I was helping defeat Emperor Zurg

I went on Carousel of Progress, where I shared the show with only seven other guests. A quick glide around Tomorrowland on the TTA ~ not the best choice for this chilly evening, but I do enjoy the ride :D
By the time I got off the TTA, it was 1 am and the park was now closed. I made my way to the bus, and about 20 minutes later I was in the room. While my pictures downloaded I undertook the sad task of packing for the morning :(
I fell into bed at 3 am

I loved this shadow the light made going through the curtain that separated the bathroom/closet area from the bed...

Ahh Amy I always get sad when it gets to the end of a report as it brings back the sad memories of having to leave the parks. It does look like you accomplished a ton in your time at the World and left virtually no place unvisited. It is kind of creepy to see all the empty boats in IASW. I have never seen it that barren. There is usually a couple of guests in each boat.

As for hanging out until closing, I don't blame you at all. On our last day the MK closed at 3AM but we ended up leaving at 1AM. We didn't get back to our room until nearly 2AM and we still had to pack as we had a 10:30 flight later that morning. There was not much sleeping that night and I would gladly do the same thing again.

MK was pretty empty that night. The bitter cold and steady winds were not being kind to the guests that evening. I knew it was inhospitable to most when I was able to ride Peter Pan with no queue!
I still have one more half day of our trip report so I'm not done quite yet... :D

Awesome again, Amy! I feel the sadness that comes with the trip winding down, though. :(

I LOVE the shots inside the castle and trust me, I would have been right there with you running all over the park until closing. It's probably my favorite time as you get the feeling that you have the park to yourself.

Just like we did on Dec 4th - run the park late night until we dropped!

It's the best thing to do. Enjoy the park to yourself after all the parade and fireworks crowds make the mass exit from the park. Usually all the attractions will have minimal to no wait and the CMs tend to become more personable when there are not many guests around... (Based off of my experiences)
