Re: Countdown to ST2
Oddly enough, there's another thread on here where someone brought up the fact he can't find out who's the guest celebrities for this year's Star Wars Weekends. I have to admit, I haven't seen anything about who's going to be at WDW this year. I wonder if they're still deciding on what to do with ST2 and the Star Wars Weekends?

Yes!
I hated the Star Tours ride. It was such a boring, extremely outdated ride. I don't even think in its 'prime' it was something to be excited about.
Though I do love its queue and (of course) the gift shop.

Re: Countdown to ST2
Seems like a trivial group to promote to since WDW gets more out of state/country visitors over locals.

Maybe they are trying to drum up some interest in the locals?!Wizzard419 wrote:Seems like a trivial group to promote to since WDW gets more out of state/country visitors over locals.

Miami might not be a bad group to plug to since they would probably be an overnight group since it looks like a 4 hour drive in ideal conditions (though I am sure they are going to be hit with ads on tv, signs, etc. all the time like they do out here.)
I wonder if WDW targets their ads to actual vacationers more than DLR? Here it is more about the "spend a day", I wonder if they run vacation ones in the surrounding states?

I live in West Virginia and I see Walt Disney World vacation commercials all the time. I've never seen a Disneyland one, though.Wizzard419 wrote:I wonder if WDW targets their ads to actual vacationers more than DLR? I also see a lot of Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure (especially with the new Wizardly World of Harry Potter addition) and "Visit Orlando" commercials, too.

I noticed that none of the mall locations seem to be in the West Florida area (such Tallahassee or Pensacola). It looks like they're concentrating on North (Jacksonville), South (Miami) and due West (Tampa).

We have WDW commercials all the time too. Universal has been advertising more heavily lately as well.Space Traveler wrote:I live in West Virginia and I see Walt Disney World vacation commercials all the time. Re: Countdown to ST2
During the summer here they somewhat scale back the ads for the other parks since they get tourists coming in. The time they really hype it though is right before summer starts since many theme parks here offer "buy a day get a year free" passes during the off season.
Re: Countdown to ST2
A few people have been announced. Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) will come the first two weekends. Ray Park (Darth Maul) the last two. Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca). Ashley Eckstein and James Arnold Taylor hosting. Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett). Here's a good link to SWW: http://sww.studioscentral.com/main/.mindflipper wrote:Oddly enough, there's another thread on here where someone brought up the fact he can't find out who's the guest celebrities for this year's Star Wars Weekends. The big rumour (scroll to the bottom of the page) is that "The Maker Himself" will make an appearance the first weekend. Since that's when we'll be there, I'm pretty stoked about that possibility, although it will also mean the place will be a zoo.

Re: Countdown to ST2
Oh man, I am *SO* excited to see how the new ride is. I have heard some really awesome things about it, about how no two rides will be the same because of all the combinations of scenes that they have and such.
Unfortunatly, I only get to WDW once a year, in February, so I didn't get to ride it last time we went. And I am hoping that by the time next February comes around, the crowds will have died off some cause it wont be quite as new, but we will have to see..

I forgot, didn't they say there were (with all the variables) about 60 or so versions?
