I can't imagine it'd be that hard to edit. It's just making a slideshow with very quick intervals for moving to the next picture. It'd just be syncing the music at the appropriate time, but with the tracks I can't imaging that'd be that hard either. The only issue is the sheer volume of pictures going into a program it'd probably eat a ton of space is my guess.

That video was awesome, though I wish they chose more appropriate music through most of Future World. Especially on the way out. I actually thought the Miley Cyrus bit through Club Cool was funny though, it seemed very appropriate. They played Whinnie the Pooh and Toy Story music on the way out, why not innoventions music? Ah well.

I'm thinking they chose the Toy Story music because those characters are in the front for the Flower and Garden expo aren't they?

Good eye Amy! The Toy Story music confused me too.

Same reason for Winnie the Pooh too if you watch closely...

Yes, it would be easy to make the pictures play as a movie and then add music to it. I'm thinking that the special software helped with the smoothness. Imagine trying to consistently hit the same position - you'll be close, but there's no way you could be perfect with it. Your head would be tilted a little more left or right sometimes or your hands might be a little further down in the pockets or you might hold your elbows closer or farther away from your body. Those minor adjustments would make it look like he's constantly twitching. In the video he's very smooth and steady except for when he's intentionally doing something. I even think they might have used the same basic body for the majority of the strolling and attached the moving head to it. If you watch his feet and arms, you'll see they're always precisely in the same position unless he does something specific.

I had wondered if the camera was fixed on a tripod that had a base with wheels to roll it around. That would allow the camera to stay relatively the same height throughout the photo shoot.

That's a good point too, I bet you're right. Otherwise the background would have been twitching around.

I know other net film-makers often do a BTS ("Behind The Scenes") video to go along with thier video to show how they made it. I wish there was one in this case.

I was wondering that too. Although I was just thinking they used a Monopod since it would be a lot easier to move around.

That video was great. I would have liked to see more Future World, but I understand that they were working against the clock. I actually interact on Twitter with Andy, the guy in the video, from time to time. He's cool; he hooked me and some other folks up with some EPCOT music (nothing Subsonic doesn't already have, but some of it was stuff I'd looked for and hadn't been able to find). My friend Tim and I are going to try to get him as a guest on the first episode of the podcast we're putting together.

It's still pretty new. I bet if enough people ask for it in the comments, he might make one.

That would be interesting. And then maybe you could ask him some specifics about how they set up the photos!

I suppose the could have edited head shifts and stuff though I kind of just assumed they were very exact about staying so still given that in the credits it mentioned it being the most physically demanding thing he's ever worked on. I imagine the editing was a pain but it really seems the filming was the hardest part. They must have been moving and shooting quickly enough though as the people around him don't jump around a whole lot either so it looks pretty smooth until he hits just about the gap between Norway and Mexico when I don't know if they started slowing down from being tired or something but the crowd around him because much less seamless than the first portion of the movie.

Did anyone catch this timelapse video put out by Disney using tilt-shift in the related videos?

It's super cool! It makes it look like a toy version of EPCOT in timelapse from pre-opening dawn to after the park has closed.

There is also ones they did for MK and MK Christmas Parade. I'm not aware of any tilt-shift being done for DHS or AK yet.

AK would be tough because of the amount of trees...not sure if you could get the right height and angle needed.

DHS would look cool though seeing how the crowds go straight to TSMM, ToT, and RnR.
