With this place turning into another Fantasyland, I'm waiting to hear they're gonna pull the wine and beer next as it doesn't fit with the renovated family image of the park...

I don't know if they've even considered it.

When DCA first opened, it seemed like the park was more adult-oriented than kid-oriented; over the years, that has reversed and future projects will complete that reversal. It makes me wonder if now that this park will be kid-oriented and family friendly, if they might consider removing the alcohol...

I doubt it. I would guess they make a pretty penny from alcohol sales in DCA.

I don't think I would say it was "Adult oriented" since the bulk of the attractions were kid friendly. Alcohol does have a major role, winemaking being the forefront, and most of the stuff served (not sure about the tequila) is local, such as the Karl Strauss truck.

If you could get drunk at DCA you should probably go see a doctor as clearly you have had your liver replaced with that of an infant's. :D

I've known people who can get intoxicated from a mug of beer or two glasses of wine. It can depend upon the individual metabolism.

Your hydration and hunger level will also play a role in that. Depending on how dehydrated and how much/little food is in your stomach will make a huge difference for an individual. They most likely will continue to serve local alcohol. EPCOT still serves beer in all the countries and it has been a family oriented park... although some younger kids tend to find it a bit boring.

I know the mermaid doesn't fit a California theme, but I'm guessing the coast and ocean are what they are trying to use for it to fit. As I've said before, they have done a lot worse with theming in Florida.

IMHO it is just as worse as the theming in Florida.

Those are usually larger that a standard serving (such as a mug being up to 2 servings and a glass being overpoured), they give you exactly 1 unit. It's like Utah, no more, no less.

I see that the ElecTRONica preview stuff must have been a good buzz generator, that's cool that you will be able to see the preview.

With all that real copper and bronze being used on the building, I wonder if it was a wise decision to use such a light color? There are local places here that have oxidized copper gutters on light colored material and the copper "bled" onto it.
