Google Earth has Disneyworld in 3D images
I don't know how many people use "Google Earth". But in the settings, you can choose 3D images, and it will create the Disneyworld buildings into an image form. You can zoom into the ground as if you were there, and pass along the 3D image buildings at Disneyworld. Pretty Cool...

I can't remember who right now, but one of the forum members on here has mentioned this before. He likes to "look" around when he is at home to get his Disney fix!kosmosworld wrote:I don't know how many people use "Google Earth". Been like that for a few years now. I get a kick out of it because they've 3D'd some stuff that guests wouldn't see while there on vacation(i.e. the break room for Rock N Rollercoaster).

Yeah I roam around WDW sometimes via Google Earth as well. The only park that is difficult is AK...because they just can't recreate all of the trees and changes in elevation. So you can get turned around easily and have no clue where you are.

That just adds to the realism of being there!theBIGyowski wrote:Yeah I roam around WDW sometimes via Google Earth as well. I am home sick today so my son and I are on Google Earth for a nice sickie vacation. We just "checked in" at the Contemporary. I think I will leave him there and go stay at the Poly myself...and then we will be off to the parks! (I think this fever is getting to me)

You do sound a bit delirious, but it is all good if it is Disney delirium! Hope you are feeling better soon! One of these days I need to download Google Earth for my computer. I have it on my phone, but it's not the same as looking at it on the big screen I'm sure.jlpeaches255 wrote:I am home sick today so my son and I are on Google Earth for a nice sickie vacation. Thanks for the info - I've used Google Earth 3D views before, but never thought of going to WDW. I can't wait to show some family members who will be going with us in August for their 1st trip. (Maybe it'll help DBIL get an idea of how big WDW is?!?
)

Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

It's pretty neat to be able to surf through the images and have the radio playing the music in the background. Almost like being there!

It's a lot of fun to browse through them despite my caveman of a laptop being a bit slow. At least when I upgrade to a new laptop soon, I will be surfing the images a lot more.

Re: Google Earth has Disneyworld in 3D images
If you have Google Earth installed...you can use Google Maps (via the web) to also see the 3D buildings. I found this out just the other day. You have three different views: Map, Satellite, and Earth. Earth is the one that has the 3D buildings and will allow you to roam through WDW, DLR, etc. once you zoom in all the way.
