Something fun to do at the Disney Store

Post by zenmondo » Dec Wed 07, 2005 6:53 pm

There isn't a Disney store where I live now, but when I lived in California, there was a fun little game one could play with a cast member at the Disney store.

First you ask, "Do you have (movie not on DVD) on DVD?"

Then the castmember is SUPPOSSED to say, "I'm sorry but that title is in the vault."

Then you can say, "You mean right next to Walt's frozen head?"

Great fun. But there have been so many DVD releases, I am unsre as to what titles are currently in the vault.

I was reminded of this thanks to Manncab's comment in another thread.

LOL Zen, too funny. We had a backstage tour where they debunked some of the myths surrounding Disney. Walt's frigid state was the first one. :D

How have they responded? I can't imagine asking our local DS CM's that. They work too hard to think straight sometimes. Really great group of people.

It was responded to with a laugh. I think my demenor made it very clear that I was joking. It actually took me two trips to the store to get the joke to work, as the first time I really was asking about a movie on DVD, and got the "vault" response. As I was leaving the store, I thought of the witty comeback, and decided to save it for my next visit.

I live a block away from Wyoming's largest shopping mall (its not that big, really) I wish a Disney store would open in it, I miss it.

I did that one time, i can't remember the joke, or what i asked for. (i tend to forget my life in High School on purpose) But the girl looked at me then rolled her eyes and walked into the employees office. It's really sad i can't remember it. We were busting up laughing as we left.
I've gone full circle on my avatars.

I really can't imagine saying anything or doing anything fun with the cast members at my local Disney Store. If I did something like that, they probably wouldn't get it. And I'd walk out thinking, "yeah, I'm never coming back".

Disney store just hasn't been the same for about the past 10 years or so.

I really hoped this topic was going to be about taking a running leap into the big pile of stuffed animals....

You know, you doing that does not surprise me one bit Manncab. What other kind of trouble do you cause? I have a feeling there must be more...

I just stepped foot into a Disney store yesterday and it was packed full of holiday shoppers. I haven't been to one for a long time, and wow it's so...different. The only thing I liked was the giant mickey head you step through as you walk in.

since you asked Zen,

I went into my local Disney Store ( we have 3, not including the outlet store) and asked them if they had any of the real action Brokeback Mountian action fiqures last week, with the best straight face i could muster and the poor CM just stood there dumb scared with her mouth wide open.

After which i gave her my annual pass and told her to renew it for me :|

Good luck actually finding a Disney Store cast member that would even know what the 'vault' is...
