Now, like Len, I have my very own huge, plush Mickey Mouse

In general, I love how the Disney Store shipping boxes have character silhouettes on them. A sure sign that the box will contain something awesome, like your giant Mickey!
Before they retired the size, I got the jumbo $100 one when it went on sale for 50% off. I also have the Minnie to go along with it

I believe they are from before TCP took over the Diseny Store chain. Shoot me a reminder if I forget to post a picture of the duo in the coming days

Who is TCP? Our closest Disney Store (in Middletown, NY) closed down a couple of years ago, although there's always the outlet in Harriman.

The Children's Place - kids clothing store.

Yeah they were owned by Hoop Realty who were a subsidary of The Children's Place.

Just to be clear: does this company own the Disney Store chain, or do they manage/run the Disney Store Chain? Disney does like to outsource. I can't see them giving up ownership.

Ah, I know the Children's Place, we get quite a lot of our clothing from them it seems. TCP means Transmission Control Protocol in my world, which is why I had to ask.

Just to add to a few of the recent comments about eating at WDW:
You know you're a WDW nut when you live in the 4th largest city in the U.S., a very diverse City with world-class restaurants staffed by chefs from all over the world, and yet no matter what new restaurant you hear about or try, your instant reaction is to compare it to your favorite eateries at WDW.... and the WDW restaurants usually win the comparison!

I can relate to that...for almost 20 years of my life, I always went to WDW for my birthday because I would rather celebrate with a lunch or dinner at a restaurant in WDW than one in my own home town.

They used to own and operate the stores. In mid 2008 Disney resumed control of the chain. Luckily it was a move that lasted for less than 4 years.

Wow was it that long ago already?! It seems like just yesterday. I was sooooo happy Disney was taking back the stores until they closed mine!!!! I only received one paycheck that actually said "Disney" on it before we were given to a liquidation company for the worst six weeks of my life.

I can't even go into that mall anymore.

...when you
almost forget the $750 car repair bill you have just paid for when you spot the blue Mickey Mouse silly band, placed carefully by the mechanic on the console. (A bracelet that must have slipped down behind the dash instead of jumping out of your car this past winter as you feared)

When you are watching the most recent "memories" commercial and know they got a shot that is very rare: Monorail Green about to enter Contemporary on the express beam and in the background is a Ferry Boat leaving Bay Lake to go into service on Seven Seas Lagoon.

Also that Universal has NOTHING to do with Disney except that they are a cheap and pathetic copy (not that I am biased or anything).
Not only correct them, but find it annoying when they still don't seem to get it!

Yes, I admit this, I do not get - as you put it - "snippy" on this point; I get "snippy" on the point of people being so ignorant as to think that Walt Disney World=Magic Kingdom, and Epcot, DHS and AK are other Disney (I won't get into the people who don't know they are Disney) parks outside of Walt Disney World. I just feel that someone needs to expose their ignorance, wave it in front of their face (and anyone else within hearing distance) and then slap them with it.[/quote]
I LOVE you!
