Yes, his presence is missed around here. I wish he could get back into regularly posting around here - mayhemometer's been a bit low lately.

Passport To Dreams Old and New. She's a former Magic Kingdom CM, and her encyclopedic knowledge of the park is unparalleled.
Something else I heard from more than one source is that a new Iago Animatronic has not been ordered, and without Iago there is no UNM show, leaving Disney with the choice of either bringing back the old show or coming up with something new. While I would personally prefer something new, it's certainly cheaper and easier to restore the old show. So, although there hasn't been an official announcement everything we know would seem to support the conclusion that the old show is returning.
I'm hoping that with the recent firing of Gilbert (tasteless Japan jokes) that perhaps Disney will want to remove themselves from him? It is hoping on my part that the original returns.
Step out to your left please. When the car stops, step out to your left.

You know, you might have something there. Even if they were originally planning on restoring Iago, they might be rethinking that plan now...

...or they just hire a voice artist that can impersonate Gilbert Gottfried. I imagine that can't be too difficult...

Well they wouldn't need him to record more lines unless they were making an entirely new version that still included Iago? His name isn't all over the attraction and comedians are often making jokes that are too harsh or too soon, so I wouldn't think his voice alone would be a huge deal - it's just Iago there.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

Well, are we have are speculation and rumor - I do wonder when Disney/TDO will finally announce what's the verdict for ETR?

I doubt Gilbert Gottfried's issues are a factor in Disney's decision-making process. More likely, the delay is caused by the fact that whatever they're doing will take longer than they initially thought.

I agree with that GG isn't a factor; there's alot of things being decided upon that we have no idea about, so I'm not surprised when I hear about delays. We're not privy to every detail.

You can always hope, but you must keep an open mind it can go either way as well.

What is really needed is someone who is to WDW what Al Lutz is to DL. I don't know how he does it, but it always seems like he's got the inside scoop.

For there to be a scoop, some decision has to be made; and as no announcement has been made, I'm thinking TDO is still trying to make their mind up about what to do...

I'm glad everyone and everything was ok. Maybe they will be able to take Iago and Zazu out and restore the totem tikis because obviously the tiki gods were angered by the bad job they have been doing...oh, and the awful fur coat that Iago is currently wearing

I agree with this...can't stand Iago and Zazu. I am glad no one got hurt.
