My 6 year old *loves* the Gravitron ride at the local fair, and although I'm not crazy about fast rides, I have to go with him. We went 5 times one night, and by the 3rd time I was doing crazy stunts, like standing up and touching the rail in the center. Fun! He took me on Splash Mountain for the first time when he was 4, so I can only imagine what rides we'll go on in years to come. The craziest ride he made me go on was "Air Force 1", so if he can handle that it sounds like we'll go on orange when we go to MS. Thanks for the advice!Mr.ToadWildRider wrote: If you've ever been on a gravitron type ride where you stick to the wall and they drop the floor a few inches so you aren't toudching the ground (basically at any carnival/amusement park) you've effectively ridden Mission Space:Extreme Edition. M:S does the exact same thing it's just the provide you with the illusion that you're not spinning but instead going full speed ahead. The "liftoff" can be a little extreme though again I think they've toned it down. I think the roughest part is the slingshot around the surface of the moon and that only lasts like 3 seconds.

If you have survived all that, you should be fine on Mission Space!Brian845 wrote:My 6 year old *loves* the Gravitron ride at the local fair, and although I'm not crazy about fast rides, I have to go with him. Just to be safe, don't feed the kid before going on the ride...

But at lunch, be sure to tell the families loading up on food that the orange side is totally fun and mild.

That might not be the wisest decision ~ what if those same families end up on your shuttle mission?!Wizzard419 wrote:But at lunch, be sure to tell the families loading up on food that the orange side is totally fun and mild.

Be sure to get in line BEFORE that family and not AFTERWARDS. Don't want to contend with any possible protein spill residue, do ya?Wizzard419 wrote:But at lunch, be sure to tell the families loading up on food that the orange side is totally fun and mild.

Oh, I would just avoid the area for a few hours after that.

I rode Space Mountain with 3 other people and I was the only one to get sick. I think if you get dizzy by spinning in general, you might not like this. Otherwise, go for it. I'm glad I did it once, but probably won't be doing it again.

I think if/when I go to WDW next year, I will probably be the one riding orange while my friend rides green. I'm the thrill seeker but she's the chicken since she doesn't do roller coasters.

Just out of curiosity, how long a line does it get during the busy season? I went during the lull before summer (long hours but not as many people/storms) and all the big rides were walk on except for a few at DHS

You must have been lucky, what time did you go? I know I used to go regularly in March and I have been amazed at how much more crowded it seemed to get year after year.Wizzard419 wrote:Just out of curiosity, how long a line does it get during the busy season? I think it was early May, possibly late April, the garden show was still going on at Epcot. Disney has been having a real problem with crowds here at DLR because the annual passes are cheap fun so they end up reaching capacity and the first group to be barred entry are the people with regular tickets.

Re: Mission: SPACE!
My B'day is in early May and the parks are empty. The lines can get an hour long during high season!!

Re: Mission: SPACE!
Mission Space will easily hit 30-45 minutes a side depending on the day and weather. If TT is operating it will have about an hour line with a lesser line for sigle riders. Soarin' will easily hit 75 minutes and will get even worse when it rains.Wizzard419 wrote:Just out of curiosity, how long a line does it get during the busy season? I would venture a guess that Soarin' is the most popular Future World attraction right now, but Mission Space is probably a close second, with Test Track bringing up the rear.Len90 wrote:Mission Space will easily hit 30-45 minutes a side depending on the day and weather.
