Can you do everything in EPCOT in one day?? It's hard enough just trying to get a drink from every venue in World Showcase (during F&W) in one day! I've done it twice!!

One of the guides I had for a tour a few months ago, told me that he gave an all day private tour to some guy and his family for over 12 hours going to all 4 parks. They were back doored into everything and managed to to do just about EVERY attraction. They skipped TSI at MK, and that may have been about it. He did this the week before Thanksgiving this past year, and the family spent over $20,000...Personally. I one spent an entire day park hoping when I was a CM on a very slow day and did almost. I started at 9am, and ended the day at MK for a Ride-a-thon for the Arnold Palmer house..think that that's what it was called. It was only in Fantasyland, but at one point I rode Peter Pan 10 times in a row without getting off!!! We had to ride the rides the equivalent of a marathon. I have no idea how many I rode, and what my total was. But I would honestly say, that day and night I rode at least 75 times. The event at night went to 1am, and it was really un crowded.
That is cool that you got to participate in a Ride-a-thon. I would love to do something like that!!
As for the private tour, is that something offered to any guests that are willing to pay for it?

yup, anyone can do the private tour. They can be incredibly expensive, and there is a 6 hour min. And for Mr.Toad, TSI=Tom Sawyer island.

I had to go look up the attractions list to figure out TSI myself
I suppose if you have the money, that is a nice way to see a lot of WDW in a short period of time. That is a lot of moolah though

i do keep track of the rides we ride each day. at the end of the day, we write down what we've done, in the sequence it happened. i feel pretty weak posting this, but after reviewing what i thought was a banner year for most rides ever accomplished in a single day... it turns out on 2 seperate days this last trip we managed 10 rides in a single day. oh boy. i guess for us it's more about the day's qaulity than qauntity?

I think after you have had the opportunity to visit the parks more than a few times, you probably are looking more at quality than quantity. Especially if you are lucky enough to be visiting for multiple days.

the first time back, as an adult, probably 15 or 20 years since my childhood visit, it was that way. we tried to hit as many rides as possible. racing around, it was kinda fun, but really left us tired. we enjoyed that trip so much that we've been returning every year since. so we started integrating other diversions, checking out other resorts, their entertainment or dining. this slows you down ride-wise. then came free dining. i think this was the final nail in the coffin for accomplishing rides. heck, even a dole whip/dole whip float knocks a half hour out of your day. decisions decisions... i'll take the float.

I would guess the addition of children changes how you experience the parks as well. I know from this past trip, my Mom was a bit slower getting around which affected the trip. I still like to go, go, go though ;)

whoops, almost forgot about them. yes, that's right, but we were talking about it before i made the post. i don't think we were doing any more rides (in recent years) prior to the kids, than after these last 3 or 4 trips that they've been along. in fact, that was the reason for the "banner" year of rides we just had. i wasn't just speaking for the whole family, i meant when it was just the two of us, we probably did less than 10 rides a day. so, as these kids get older, who knows, we may become "most ride" contenders. because it was certainly their ride desire that put us up over the top on this last trip! putting off that afternoon nap just a little longer for one (or maybe two?) more rides on the way out of the park? sure, why not?

I hadn't considered that they would make you experience more attractions in a day. I was actually thinking children would make you take a slower pace through the parks. I guess that would depend on the ages of the children. Younger ones might make the trip a little slower paced and require more time spent in queues for character pictures and autographs, older children might require more thrill rides. This would make a very interesting study in how people of different ages experience the parks. I wonder if I could get a grant to study people behavior at Disney parks?! ;)

Teenagers make a trip all about the rides. I love my boys, but I do enjoy a Baloo Jacca trip!!

yes, completely true, and what jacca stated is what i anticipate for the future, but even w/ character slowdowns, my kids (currently 2 and 4) want to ride rides. although we could do w/out dumbo and a few others, that's not really an option for the kids... hence more rides than we would have otherwise done.

Teenagers are mostly into the thrill rides. How many teenagers do you see that eagerly wait to board a boat in IASW?

Depends on how big of a group they are in. I can see a whole group of teens riding and thinking they were being cool, or obnoxiously cool as the case may be!

The January following the 9/11 tragedy was very slow. We probably went through all the attractions in each park in record time.
