Keep in mind that a lot of $$$ goes into new attractions. You have research and development, contracting a construction company to build it, building the attraction, etc...

Sure, Disney has money. Billions of dollars in fact. But four new attractions every year (unless you are saying all the parks in the world) would be a ton of money to pay. Keep in mind they already pay for the tens-of-thousands of people who work at WDW and adding more attractions would just make it more for them to pay. Remember, TDO doesn't like to pay money for anything unless Burbank goes over their heads (Fantasyland Expansion and Star Tours).

I love WDW, however at the risk of sounding critical;
1. Expedition Everest- with yeti working it was the best ride ever, he's that amazing. Without, it's just pretty cool.
2. Backlot Tour- Sad, unengaging shadow of former self. Redesign whole area of park please.
3. Both Studios stunt shows- just not very repeateable once you've seen them. They take up a whole lot of realestate.
4. Sounds Dangerous- get it out, get it out, get it out!
5. Imagination Pavillion- (both ride and movie) Another shadow of former glory for those of you who remember it in mid 80's.
6. Dinosaur- one of WDW's finest when all effects work, rarely it's the case.
7. Tomorrowland speedway- Yes, still popular with kids. Huge parcel of land could be developed more imaginatively.
8. Tiki Room- Under New Mgnt. can't hold a candle to the charm of the origional
9. Test Track- an attraction that huge, techical, and expensive should have remained interesting for longer than it did.
10. Peter Pan- Far to beloved and popular not to receive upgrades with the kind of effects WDI is capeable of now.
.....was I too harsh?

I'm afraid if there are any future renovation projects - like to EPCOT or DHS - it will have to be corporate once again making the over-riding decision... :(

Not to sound rude but that is a big, fat DUH!

TDO is all about making money for themselves. They've nixed some stuff for Star Tours 2 that Disneyland is getting. Makes you wonder how great the parks would be if they were willing to spend the money to, as Walt Disney himself would say, plus the parks!!!!!!!

I don't care how long it it would take or how much money it would cost to fix him but I'd wait as patiently as I could (very patiently) to see them fix the Yeti as soon as possible!

Here's something that most probably don't know: They've redone the track for the Speedway to 2 lanes because of the new Dueling Dumbo's. It isn't much but the space Speedway leaves behind if demo'd is a little smaller now.

Interesting or not, it is still the second most popular attraction in Futureworld. At least that is what the lines today show (1 1/2 to 3 hour waits today).

I had seen an aerial photo that included the speedway and I was amazed at how small it seemed to me. To me it seemed like it consumed more space when riding it on ground level.

Autopia actually was about half the size before the rennovation. For some reason we use to have two of them and then in the early 2000's they were joined together for the extra long track.

Yeah...there used to be a "mini-autopia" or something...right?

Apparently there were 3 originally (midget, jr. and regular), but for most of it's history it's been just another autopia track.

I remember when they did the disneyana convention in 2001, people snapped up the old car bodies really fast (they were in the process of making the new ones for the Chevron ride)

The backlot tour at the Studios..I mean does anyone even go on that ride any more? I'm thinking they need to move forward with the long-rumored Monster's coaster!

The backlot tour is indeed a sad shell of it's former self :(
