Do you know if that is common for them to get bounced to a completely different park?mindflipper wrote:I know a CM who said his last day at Toontown was the 11th and was working at DHS the next day.

Different location, whether it is a different park, resort or DTD is up to casting. If you are in attractions, you'll end up at another attraction. Merchandise is easier because it is the same system they use at the registers, just a different layout from place to place.Amy wrote:Do you know if that is common for them to get bounced to a completely different park?mindflipper wrote:I know a CM who said his last day at Toontown was the 11th and was working at DHS the next day.

Amy and F1gment ~ day 8
Today was a day to hit Downtown Disney in the morning to use a 20% off coupon printed at the bottom of a receipt. It was a bit of a rush in the morning as I woke up to realize that we (meaning me) had forgotten to charge up Mom's scooter battery overnight
So we plugged it in while she had a quick breakfast at the hotel food court. I opted to eat at Earl of Sandwich once we arrived at DTD. Those sandwiches are tasty! In fact, I was wishing that there was an Earl of Sandwich by us just a few days ago

For some reason it seemed to take a long time to get to DTD on the bus. Once we finally got there, we had about 2 hours to shop and use our coupon before the noon deadline.
After we made our purchases we wandered on down to see of Characters in Flight was operating. On our way, we saw one of our friends from Michigan outside the Lego store waiting for his daughter and grandkids to finish up shopping. He had known we were going to be there, unlike his son-in-law from earlier in the trip, so he wasn't as surprised to see us. We chatted for a few minutes and then continued on down to find that the weather conditions were not favorable for flights today.

Our friend Doc with his coffee. He said if he had known it would be this cold down in Florida, he would have stayed home!

I would have tried to pet him to see if this sign was accurate, but he was too far off the ground for me to try

A few of the Adventurer's Club...I wish now I would have taken more photos of all the DTD area since it is all being demolished

We made our way to the bus stop and while we were waiting for an All Stars bus, we saw 3 Grand Floridian buses, 2 Pop Century buses, 9000 Fort Wilderness buses,
ok, it was more like only 4 or 5 for Fort Wilderness, but still!!
This is when we had a nice long chat with a bus driver coming back from his lunch. He told us the new dispatch system for the buses sometimes duplicates the call so that is why you might see 2 or even 3 buses for the same resort show up right after one another. I wish now I would have asked him if I could take his photo since he was actually one of the most enjoyable CM interactions we had during our whole trip. But then again, I am a sucker for a nice Southern gentlemen
I like this photo of the fire station through the bus window

We made it back to the hotel, Mom got a sandwich at the food court and I ate her dessert for lunch
We got her settled back in the room for a short nap and to give the scooter a charging boost. And I went off to DHS. This was not to be our day for buses. I must have just missed one since I had to wait for over 25 minutes for one to arrive.
I lucked out and got into Toy Story Mania, went and checked on Rock n Roller Coaster, which was down...again. Rode ToT and then found F1gment about 5:15. We went to the 5:45 showing of Beauty and the Beast. I love that movie's music and can sooooo picture myself portraying Belle
We tried to hit the early showing of Fantasmic but it was standing room only. So we decided to eat some dinner. We ate at the street market again, but we didn't have the pulled pork bbq this time. Mom had a chili dog which was really tasty and I had a small pizza. And I found a lucky dime! Just like a lucky penny, only 10 times better

I saw this couple at the street market when I was ordering my pizza. They had the coolest jackets that they had made. He said they used something called el-wire to sew the designs...I had taken the photos before I talked with them so they are a bit blurry...

We got into the 7:30 showing of Fantasmic but didn't have as good of seats as we did earlier in the trip. We took our time getting out of the amphitheater since the park was almost closed and we didn't wish to be trampled.

F1gment had to pet some of the Jack Skellington Nightmare Before Christmas plush on the way out...

For you VM crazies, um, I mean fans...you can see one of the VM trading boxes by the cash register (just over F1gment's head)...

And a few more photos on the way out...

Oh, have I mentioned that it was cold on day 8? It was 40 degrees when we started out and only into the low 60's during the day. But it was also surprisingly humid as indicated by my hair after having been in a headband most of the day to keep my ears warm
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PHOTO IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART...

Then it couldn't have been after the 11th as I was at MK on the 12th and a big green wall was blocking the entrance by Teacups and a fabric "wall" was blocking the train station. The demolition crews weren't there yet but there were no CMs there either...Sleepy90 wrote:We came in past the Toontown sign by the Teacups.MadEye wrote:Then... how did you get in?Sleepy90 wrote:Train station was closed and the walls were up there...![]()

Great pictures, Amy! Those lighted jackets looked cool (I was more partial to one over the other
). Even though it was cold, you gotta admit - it's lot better than the snow!

Yes, the jackets definitely caught my eye. I asked where they had gotten them and they were quite pleased to let me know they had made them themselves. I did think of both you and Mom for the Jack jacketmindflipper wrote:Great pictures, Amy! Those lighted jackets looked cool (I was more partial to one over the other). And I kept telling myself that while we were there in December...even if it was really, really cold, Florida was still sunny and there was no snow!

As always Amy, fantastic pictures! I'm loving all your commentary. What were those plush figures of Jack Skellington and Zero? They looked like baby versions. I think the Zero plush is adorable! Earl of Sandwich is a great place to grab a bite too.

I had saw some plush Jack and Zero slippers that looked like that while I was at WDW back on Dec 4th, so I was assuming that what those were...MmeLeota wrote:As always Amy, fantastic pictures! Great pictures and great color in the pictures, Amy. Very intense.
Btw, did I ever post the picture of my kids from a few years back when they went as Lock, Shock and Barrel for Halloween? It was one of my favorite costumes ever!

Those Nightmare Before Christmas were super soft and did look like little baby versions of the characters. They also were really expensiveMmeLeota wrote:As always Amy, fantastic pictures!
