I just got an email from D23 imploring me to renew for a third year. If I renew 2 months early I get a....pin! Hmmm, I will have to really think it over now...

Hmmmmmm, maybe they have noticed the drop in membership and are slowly reacting...

Is that instead of or in addition to the watch?

The watch was for renewal for this year, 2011. The pin is for next year, 2012. My membership expires in May of this year.

Gee, the gift for renewal seems to get cheaper and cheaper. Maybe for 2013 it will be a sticker LOL!

Nah, those get recycled. I think I read somewhere they are turning them into beads...they will probably turn those into a D23, collectors limited availability edition

Yes, they had a presentation on the beads during Magic and Merriment. I couldn't believe how expensive they were; a bracelet was close to $20!

Ah-ha! I knew I had read it somewhere! But was there also something about the beads being made in Africa or some other impoverished nation?
