Thinking back to my few rides since the lap bars were installed, I think the only load time issue is that the average guest doesn't realize there are lap bars. Both the padding and lap bars are the same color so they kinda blend into each other at a glance. If you are unaware of the lap bars, it could take you a few seconds to spot them. At least that's how it seems. All the times it has happened, it happened behind me so I couldn't tell if they were looking hard enough or not. *shrugs*

It's a change; once people get used to the lap bars, it will just be second nature to all the guests.

I agree, most people don't know about them yet, but they will get used to them. The CM's were already good about reminding everyone to "sit down and pull down on the lap bar" as you board.

I just went on a few days ago and they're really not that bad. Theres enough room, you don't really even notice it. And I agree, it'll become the norm pretty quickly.

I don't think the lap bars are any problem at all. But Splash Mountain has been having constant problems since it reopened from it's refurb.

What kinds of problems has it been having?

I couldn't tell you exactly as I don't work there but last night and every ride I've had on Splash since it reopened I've been stuck at least once on a few lifts if not all the lifts in the same ride and only once (that I know of) was because a lap bar was not lowered enough).

That seems very weird that it would be having that many problems after a refurb!

Not really. The last refurb was for the lap bars to be added to the logs and not much else. The year before was a total replacement of all the lifts and machinery.

Wow, that's crazy that you've been stuck so much. We rode it at least 10-20 times and only got "stopped" once, but it was probably just a wheelchair or random slow loading guest because pretty much as soon as the "stay in your seat" message finished, we were on our way again. I wonder if we had really good luck or you've had really bad luck.

Bad luck? Nah. I wouldn't mind being evac'd off Splash, especially if its from the big lift for the main drop! :D

I was actually on the ride once when it stopped due to some tool getting out during the closing Riverboat scene and walking around ... therefore the entire ride shuts down while they evacuate everyone to make sure all is working properly and nothing was vandalized. It was an hour long dent in my day. So if lapbars keep idiots from doing this I'm all in!

Its sad that it comes to that but agreed. I feel if you can not teach your children well. Than they are not allowed to obtain certain abilities. But then again if you are unable to teach your children then you have no say in their actions.

And if people aren't able to teach their children to behave well, it is probably because they don't know how to ask themselves
I must say I have never had a log of misbehavers on Splash, duckers ~ yes, but misbehavers ~ no ;)
