Re: WDW 40th
I wouldn't expect much of anything until WDW's 50th. By then I am guessing most of the Imagineers that built the Magic Kingdom will be in greener pastures.
I do hate I won't be there for the 40th because my first WDW trip as a child was during the 15th Birthday and I was there again for 25 and the Pepto-cake-castle.

Re: WDW 40th
Funny thing is they saved the pepto-cake castle overlay and recycled into DLP for their 5th I believe. But to me, at least the pepto-cake castle overlay was better than nothing at all. At least they did something (even if it was disgusting and made you want to puke).theBIGyowski wrote:I wouldn't expect much of anything until WDW's 50th. I remember that - it was horrible. And before they put all of the decorations on it, they had to paint the entire castle bright pink. Imagine how shocked we were to arrive on our yearly family vacation and see the castle as it normally is, but neon pink.theBIGyowski wrote:

Yeah, I'm sure Cinderella would have preferred a light blue, like her ball gown!theBIGyowski wrote:poor Cinderella...I doubt she had any say at allMoonPet wrote:I remember that - it was horrible. MoonPet, do you have any photos from when the castle was just pink ~ no decorations?

I love that picture. There's something so "over the top, we left our brains at the door" about the decision to decorate the castle in pepto-pink that I get the giggles every time I see a picture of it.
I say, please, bring it back. Just for the fun of it! (and maybe add a few vinylmation characters to it, too

I have a photo of that with the Walt and Mickey statue in front of it that I took when we were there. I kind of like it. I'm glad it didn't stay like thatmomeja wrote:I love that picture. Thank you, NaCler. And for my next suggestion, let's add disco mirrors to Spaceship Earth and start it spinning.NaCler wrote:DISNEY SUITS!!! DISNEY SUITS!!! A VINYLMATION castle!!! I think nearby county governments would sue in State Court if they did that to SSE, momeja.
