Sounds like you made the best of a bad situation. Splash was down as well but I do not know if it was the same problem as they seemed to be having problems with splash throughout the whole trip.
We waited patiently while people in front of us left by the emergency exit in droves and it took maybe 15-20 mins to get up and running again but everyone who stayed in line where in good humour and we sang a few renditions of A Pirate's life for me to keep it going.
