So, it is likely that the pictures are of actors enjoying their trip to Disney instead of regular every-day park-goers then?
They could be LCD screens that turn for the wow factor

They probably are from their stock photo archive, but wouldn't it be silly to have a turning mechansim + LCD screen to change the picture?
Honestly, the way they did the display may be more resistant to the elements, but it probably cost more work/time since it relies on mechanical aspects.

Of course it would be silly to pair LCD screens with the turning mechanism, but Disney does not always plan ahead. And I wonder how long the display will be fully functioning since it does have those turning elements.

Man. The entrance for Little Mermaid is starting to look really nice!

It really does. I love the beautiful design that went into it and I hope the marquee comes up soon.

I was at the park yesterday. The bas-relief detail is great! Can't wait for the artists to come in and paint them.

Did anyone else catch the "StarSpeeder 1000" sneak preview vehicle? Nice!

I think "Limited Edition" translates at Disney to be "Made to turn Collectors into Suckers".

Darn, that must make me a sucker because I bought a Haunted Mansion ghost Mickey that was limited to 1500. Mine's number 1167.

Don't worry, elizabethswann, we all have bit by the "sucker" bug probably. I'm sure it could be listed in the "You know you're a WDW nut when..." thread as well.

I know I'm probably going to wind up buying some souvenirs here and there when I go to WDW but we'll see.

What do you mean "turn"?

Once you highlight the finitie quantity of a good it makes some people more impulsive, which is why media items (movies, games, books, etc) have "limited editions" that are released at the same time.
