I do like Testtrack because I LOVE thrill rides. But to put it bluntly, its really not that thrilling. I expect a little more from Disney especially if they are going to replace a favorite like WOM.

You can blame GM for that as it was their sponsorship money that dictated what to do with WoM and Test Track.

I'm sorry, but the WoM wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. I think people remember it more fondly than they can actually remember it.

That is what I found after I watched a video of the attraction. I think I like it more for the music and the memories of family rather than the ride itself.

Same with Horizons, nostalgia can make anything better. Just look at the 1950's. :D

That would be a whole 'nother poll, but I think Horizons was much better than World of Motion :D

I believe they could have kept World of Motion and carry it right through to Test Track....same theme, past history to the present. I do miss the older rides. If it's not broken don't fix it. :donald:

I'm too young to have been on WoM, I would have loved it I think. :?

Pros of World of Motion:
Dark ride, cool animatronics, a history lesson, clever humor

Cons of World of Motion
Not a lot of character (no memorable characters or scenes), ride vehicle track is boring (just a conveyor belt of ride vehicles), the song is uninspired, slow moving ride, didn't age well

Pros of Test Track:
Fast moving, you go inside and outside the building, kinda educational, different thrills (quick stopping, temperature changes)

Cons of Test Track:
It's like riding in a convertible (which is boring), no character whatsoever, no creativity, not memorable
I think the cavemen blowing on their red and irritated toes were quite memorable as well as the chaotic downtown crash scene. Chickens!
And who could forget that theme song? It's fun to be freeeee!

Not to mention Mona Lisa sitting there tapping her foot waiting for Da Vinci who is tinkering with his flying wings contraption. Now that was memorable.

I remember when Test Track first opened, I remember how long and boring its queue was. I thought it would be fun if they could have taken the Old World of Motion scenes and narration and turned it into a pre-show film (traditional animation or computer animation) for the Test Track queue. That way, you could make the WoM fans still happy that the old ride was in some memorialized in the new ride while making the queue less boring...

...but then we would have a line to get to the queue...to get to the ride.

wait...we have that now ;)

ITA. It was rather long and slow but with a good soundtrack. It's actually not surprising that all us Disney music fans take points off of Test Track for having such a terrible soundtrack, but WoM only had a soundtrack and not much else going for it.

It’s interesting to me that most of the pro-WoM comments are due to nostalgia or because of one slightly memorable, but not really amazing scene—not because it was a better attraction than Test Track.

Personally, I think WoM was a below average dark ride—especially compared it its neighbor, Horizons. It was kinda interesting, kinda fun to look at, and the music was kinda repetitive. Test Track probably is a better attraction because it’s an original idea. And while we can debate the merits of the idea (is riding in a convertible all that thrilling), it wasn’t going through the motions like WoM was.
