I agree, it's not really a "dud", just not the one they wanted. What they wanted and what you want may be totally different things.Amy wrote:I probably wouldn't buy a re-taped box either, but I wouldn't automatically assume it was a dud. Someone might have just pegged it as a duplicate is all. I would think the Disney store would watch the collectibles a little closer to ensure people didn't try to open them

Very true... MOST of them are in the basic Mickey shape, including the chasers. So even though they have felt the foil it doesn't mean that it may not contain a chaser.

Re: Vinylmation
I kinda like the mystery aspect as well, even though I usually like to know what I am purchasing.
I think that the trading aspect works if you have a trip coming up or if you live close enough to a park to be able to trade. I think we may get a few more just to use as trading during the D23 Expo in August...might be able to get something really sweet!
(as far as C-40 getting anymore SW vm's. who knows? It's possible...)

Good point. I'd still be suspicious, though. (of course, on the other hand, I'd never buy a mystery box anyway, so it's kind of a moot point.

Unfortunately, the Star Wars series is a blind box. But if you are a big Star Wars fan, I don't think you will be upset at getting any of them in your blind box.momeja wrote:Good point. Ok, I took another sip....a muppet one this time. Blind box, so we'll see what it ends up being...I like most of them though.

True. But if it's not the one you want, you may be putting out more greenbacks for another box...Amy wrote:Muppets?! It can only be good if it is a muppet!!MmeLeota wrote:Ok, I took another sip....a muppet one this time. Blind box, so we'll see what it ends up being...I like most of them though.

That's the ideamomeja wrote: True. But if it's not the one you want, you may be putting out more greenbacks for another box...

And the best thing about that is: You don't need to be too disappointed if you get the same one twice - as long as you are in the parks, you can trade them in

(Come to think of it, that's a pretty awesome marketing strategy. Why do I suddenly feel the urge to buy several VM?

Man, will people drink the kool-aid - especially if it's served in something Mickey Mouse shaped!

Yes, this is true...but if I don't like the one I get I will trade it. But since I LOVE the muppets and actually like most of the muppet vm, there's only a very small chance that I would be disappointed. I am on the edge of my seat...momeja wrote:True. But if she opens it now, where's the tension? Such tense anxiety needs to be savored until the stomach acids reach a boiling point from stress...

Re: Vinylmation
It sounds like MmeLeota ordered it on DS.com and is eagerly awaiting with antici...pation! Trust me, MmeLeota, I know the feeling! We picked some up the other day and it was hard enough to wait until we got home to open them! Also, I drank a little more Kool-aid and finally caved last Friday buying 2 Muppets (my first ones) and a couple of the Cutesters Too series (ONLY because my wife likes them!). I can't wait until we get ours in the mail as well.
Also, this Friday @ 3am Eastern they will release the Disney Afternoon Series Kit/Baloo combo for $24.95. It's limited edition of 1000 and it's pretty safe to say it will sell out. If you wanted this, you better set the alarm or go to bed late if you are on the Left Coast!

I don't get these toys, I really don't, most of them are ugly, you never know what your going to get, and they're so much money for a piece of plastic from China that does nothing. Some on them are cute though, but I never get the one I want anyway, and its not worth the money to try.
