Nope, I just snapped it up from the walkway from Boardwalk resort to MGM using a nightshot mode on my cameraMickeymac wrote:Matt, that's awesome! Tell me that's not retouched!
I can't wait to go through the rest. I'm doing mine this morning while I'm working.

Those are awesome. Last year in WDW I took some shots with a 4MP point-and-shoot (a Canon PowerShot S410)... this year (umm, TOMORROW) when we go I will have my 8MP DSLR (Canon Rebel XT) with an 18-55mm lens and about 1.5GB of CompactFlash storage space...
I can't wait to take all the good pics I can!!
Btw Quick, that shot of Studios from across the waterway is amazing. Nice work.

my 1GB CF card will hold about 230 full-res, superfine JPG images from my XT.... half that if you shoot in Photoshop RAW format (which I never do).
So, we're hoping to get 350-ish full-res images. If I drop below 50 left, though, I will probably either up the JPG compression, or reduce the resolution to ensure I don't run out of space.

Spaula, let me know how you like the XT, expecially for action and night shots. I take about 500 pics a day with a Panasonic Lumix, and am getting increasingly disappointed with the focusing and quality. I love the 12x IS zoom, which is a huge lens on the Rebels, but I think I'm heading in that direction.
I wish there was a way to make a more powerful zoom on a smaller camera.

Oh I've had the XT for a few months now and I already adore it. You can see a bunch of my pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/spaulo/... some of those are from my camera phone, however, the EXIF data is available for all shots (and it should be pretty obvious which are taken with the phone!)

Thanks - cool shots. I've got a boatload at mickeymac.smugmug.com. I had great luck until recently, but my camera has been through the ringer. My husband has the rebel, and a photographer buddy of mine keeps recommending the XT to me, so I'm considering. I also like one of the canon point and shoots with the 12x zoom. I really miss my Elph, but need more zoom.
Boy, I totally shredded Gold's report - I'm sorry.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The particular shot of the Studios took me about 7 or 8 takes before I got it right. Had to put the camera on a mini-tripod and actually lie down on the path to line it up correctly (and to account for the shakiness of my hands).
