Yeah, it was pretty miserable most of the summer here last yearmindflipper wrote:I remember thinking that too (head North for the summer) but last year the Northern states had heat waves that made it no better than Florida.

Re: Disney World in 2012
I have a quick question but I didn't want to make a new topic. Has anyone tried to get a Disney planning DVD lately but haven't gotten it in the 2-3 weeks they mentioned? I've requested it at least twice but never got one.

Just out of curiosity, how long did you have to wait between ordering and getting since you were thinking it was never coming?!elizabethswann wrote:I managed to get my planning DVD today so I'm happy. I'm off to watch.

Remember, over the past 3 weeks there's been a lot a crazy weather across the USA and it can affect the timely delivery by the US Post Office.

I think the first time I requested was sometime last year towards the end of the year. I don't remember. Then the second time I requested was sometime last month I think. I got a little impatient, I won't lie.Amy wrote:Just out of curiosity, how long did you have to wait between ordering and getting since you were thinking it was never coming?!elizabethswann wrote:I managed to get my planning DVD today so I'm happy. What about that whole "neither rain, nor sleet, nor night of the living dead" thing they tout all the time?!mindflipper wrote:Remember, over the past 3 weeks there's been a lot a crazy weather across the USA and it can affect the timely delivery by the US Post Office.
Re: Disney World in 2012
I think that only applies to the postal workers themselves. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be on a plane or in an 18-wheeler durring a blizzard...Amy wrote:What about that whole "neither rain, nor sleet, nor night of the living dead" thing they tout all the time?!mindflipper wrote:Remember, over the past 3 weeks there's been a lot a crazy weather across the USA and it can affect the timely delivery by the US Post Office.

And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Yeah, we didn't get mail or paper during the worst of the storm this weekMadEye wrote:I think that only applies to the postal workers themselves. So, you gotta be patient with mail when the evening news spends half their show reporting on the horrors of the winter weather. Because more than likely, something you're waiting to be delivered is being held up by that weather. Just hope it's a blizzard that's the problem, and just not being lost in a flood somewhere...

As an employee of the USPS I can tell you that it has not been easy this winter. At least here in Boston. In every storm, we make an attempt to deliver the mail. Many times we can't get our trucks out of the yard to hit the street so we are limited to how much we can get to. Not to mention the side streets which are usually the last to get plowed..... but I digress....

The lady at the post office told me today that they have to come into work, even if there is a snow emergency. They are not allowed to miss work because of the weather.kcarts wrote:As an employee of the USPS I can tell you that it has not been easy this winter. At least here in Boston. While we are off topic, maybe you can enlighten me as to why so many postal workers seem to be missing parts of their fingers? I have noticed this now on at least three or four separate employees in different offices.
And now, back to the topic at hand, I sure hope I can go to WDW in 2012, but I doubt it since we will be going in 2011 to take advantage of our AP's before they expire...

Wait a sec? You work for the USPS...and yet it's Jacca5660 who was always going postal around here on Subsonic? How did that work out?kcarts wrote:As an employee of the USPS I can tell you that it has not been easy this winter. At least here in Boston. In every storm, we make an attempt to deliver the mail.
