Re: Lap bars for Splash Mtn.
i think this is probably a good idea, we rode one time with a girl in front us standing up 3 or 4 times during the ride. I dont understand why people think that is ok.

The human being is a stupid animal. How stupid is up to each individual human being's willingness to learn. At least that is my humble opinion.joeyflds wrote:i think this is probably a good idea, we rode one time with a girl in front us standing up 3 or 4 times during the ride. We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

I don't actually think it's lawyers in this case as much as it is higher ups trying to increase efficiency. Every time someone stands up, there's downtime. Everytime someone gets out, there's even more downtime. If it is their opinion that getting rid of those downtimes will offset the increased loadtimes (and it is my belief they do and they will), then that means more people on the ride per hour which means happier guests as well as guests who can spend more time in shops and restaurants.masterj345 wrote:the lawyers are out in force on this one. but it probably will be safer so whatever im all for it
And more safety is certainly an added bonus.

Not necessarily lawyers, but Disney does have a department for "risk management" that analyzes such things and the possible solutions.

Kinda odd that it took them 20 years to do this...mindflipper wrote:Not necessarily lawyers, but Disney does have a department for "risk management" that analyzes such things and the possible solutions.

Re: Lap bars for Splash Mtn.
I saw the lap bars in a photo yesterday, they don't look like they would be too bad to try to get in and out with since they seem to fit back flush into the front of the seat.
I wonder if the lap bars will keep people that are seated in front of you in the log from ducking down on the drop so you get really, really wet...not that I would know anything about that happening, would I, mindflipper?!

I've got a witness! Except he was too busy splashing the poor little girl behind us to notice you ducking up frontmindflipper wrote:You may very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment.Amy wrote:I saw the lap bars in a photo yesterday, they don't look like they would be too bad to try to get in and out with since they seem to fit back flush into the front of the seat.

Thank you for already handling the cross-examination of your witness...he was more like a "ride-mate" than a "witness"...Amy wrote:I've got a witness! It's not that odd actually, if I recall the number of suits against large companies has been on the rise in recent years. So it is more like protection against people trying to harm them selves (real or fake) in the hopes of getting a settlement out of them.

They also see them as low hanging fruit, ready for a shakedown. What they don't see is that now the companies are tired of it and will threaten to go through with the trial.
