Yeh, Amy, its bad isn't when the parks go to sleep before you're ready for them to retire for the night? If you're awake, why can't the park stay awake?

Sorry you came from cold, snowy Michigan to a cold, chilly Florida.

Another fun filled day Amy. Joe says the cookie didn't taste as good because you really wanted the muffiny thing with the white stuff in it.
I'm sure the pics will be great when the computer lets them through, looking forward to day six.

Mousekedude that is a fantastic picture of the Eagle owl I saw Amy's in an earlier post and thought it was lovely as well.

 Yeah! It is! And I thought 8 pm was a really early closing time  I don't know if that was the scheduled time or they simply decided it was too darn cold to stay open?!

Joe might have a point Sleepy! No, it was some sort of toffee, chocolately cookie and it was just very dry and the toffee was so hard it was almost impossible to chew. It tasted like a cookie that was several days old :(
Thank you for the compliment on my owl picture :D I'll have more in a few days. I have some where the owl was very fixated on someone in the audience so he stayed very still for his photo ;)

Wow, Amy! What a full day.
I like the :insert angels singing here: comment because thats how it is when you see those lights!!!

I got chills reading your comments because it reminded me of that first time I came around the corner and saw all those lights.
Awesome!
Sorry about the jerks, but they are everywhere. Usually Disney Magic overcomes it, but not always it seems....

Another great day! :) :D

Amy, I doubt you were the last group to go through Great Movie Ride. There are always stragglers that show up at the last minute. Usually if it isn't busy, the CM's who load the vehicles will hold the guests for a vehicle or two so the very last tour of the day is not less than 20 or even less than that. Most CM's hate doing shows for less than 20 guests. I know I did as most were sleepy and not paying attention to you at all.

And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Amy and F1gment's Day 5 ~ continued... (I have problems with my computer being slow loading the longer posts so am opting to break this up a bit.) Hopefully no one yells at me  :(

Then we headed over to the Little Mermaid ~ that is a really nice little show.
Image

I have a piano student that has a very beautiful voice and can totally picture her being Ariel someday (the whole family adores Disney and the youngest 5 girls in the family sleep, eat and breathe Disney princesses and songs :D ) As you can imagine that is one of my favorite households in which to teach ;)

Image

Ursula is one of Mom's favorites...I like the detail Ursula has right down to her clicky red fingernails
Image
Image

We headed over to Pizza Planet for lunch. That was one of the most disappointing meals I had on the trip so far. The pizza was just bleh. Mom on the other hand had a meatball sub that was quite tasty. I offered to trade halvsies but she had already tasted a bit of my pizza when I tasted her sandwich so she was on to me...

No photoshopping was done to this photo ~ can you figure out where I took it?!
Image

Then it was off to Muppet Vision ~ 3D. I love this show, but once again there were just some obnoxious people in the theater that made it difficult to enjoy the show. I am very glad we would have more time to revisit these attractions later in the trip. I think you can have fun and even maybe cause a little mayhem without being obnoxious to the point where you are interfering with other guests' experience.

Statler and Waldorf are some of my favorites in this show...and I think Beaker is cute :D

You can see some of the Osborne Lights in the background...
Image

And then here are a few photos I took on purpose of the Osborne lights not...um...well...lit!

The tram tour was next. I think Catastrophe Canyon is fun, and it is neat to see the wardrobe people in their environment, but am so sad at the loss of the rest of the tour. It is just a shell of it's former self :(

It was cold for the poor CM's out there by the water
Image

This CM was the best! He was putting on a great show!!!

Image

Hi Herbie halves!
Image

Oh what a lovely canyon scene...I wonder what will happen in here?!
Image
Image

Then it was time for Lights, Motors, Action. I had the privilege of seeing this show in it's original form at DLP in 2003. My Mom and Dad were sports car rally-ers back in the day so I knew Mom would enjoy this show...and she did!
Our view from the top ~ boy is that hat big or what?!

One of the many service animals we saw on this trip...this one was quite prepared for the chilly Florida weather

Mom wanted to see American Idol, and I really didn't care to see it, but after a little discussion of where she needed to go, and where I was going and where we would meet back up I decided it wouldn't kill me to watch the show and it might be nice to sit for a bit. It was ok, they had three singers, two that were very good, one that was ok. One of the good singers won...I don't know if she won the golden ticket later or not as we weren't at the last show of the evening.
Image

Sounds Dangerous was next. It is sort of silly but I do like the surround sound concept. The haircut part is the best :D Snip, snip, pouf, pouf, and then the whisper ~ chills!

Alright...last part of Day 5...finally...

By this time it was finally time for the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights ~ insert choir of angels singing here ~ This show is one of the main reasons we like visiting at this time of year. All the twinkly lights, the music, the fake snow...ok, not the fake snow, we have been spoiled by the real stuff! Anyhow, it was super crowded. I drove Mom's scooter with one hand so she could just sit back and enjoy the lights without worrying about running into someone. Then she parked and looked a bit while I wandered and took a few..alright, several hundred...photos.

Here are just a few...
Kermie!!!

This Christmas tree was massive! And you can see in the foreground how crowded the streets were

One of the blinking light goodies sold by the street vendors, these snowmen were very cute winking at the passersby...
Image

Yup, there were a lot of people here this night...almost one for every light
Image

A quick stop at the Writer's Stop for a couple snack credit redemptions. I couldn't remember exactly what someone had spoke of so highly on the forum, but I knew there was some sort of tasty dessert there. The line there was horrible  We waited, and waited, and waited. You couldn't even see in the case while you were waiting. So we finally got to the front of the line...rice krispie treat brick for me! and some sort of something else, I think it was carrot cake or some sort of muffiny thing?? As the CM is ringing it up Mom wonders out loud if it has coconut in it, which I am allergic to. So I ask, which sets into motion the CM having to go inquire in the back, then bringing out a huge 3 ring binder containing the recipe and ingredient list for each thing they sell since Disney does not make a majority of the treats they sell in there. More waiting, and waiting...yup, the evil little white stuff is listed in our second dessert so we switched it for a cookie without a problem. Unfortunately the cookie ended up not being very good, but the rice krispie brick was pretty tasty :D

By this point it was getting on past 8:30. Mom was ready for some dinner. Everywhere we passed seemed to be closed though. We made it almost all the way to the beautiful blue sorcerer's hat when we found out Mom's blood sugar was pretty low. So, since everything on the commissary lane was closed, I ended up walking all the way back to the writer's stop to get a juice. Got that in her and she decided she would just go ahead back to the hotel and eat there. I headed for the Great Movie Ride and was pleasantly surprised to find it still back there behind the Sorcerer's hat

It wasn't very crowded and I was one of, if not the last, tour groups to go through.
Some photos from the Great Movie Ride...

I got out of there at 8:16 and headed down to the RnR coaster hoping to find it open since it had been closed every time I had checked throughout the day. Got there and realized the park had closed at 8, whoops  Making the best of the walk, I snapped a couple more photos, even though I had pretty throughly documented that section of the park the first evening we were there.

Then I headed off to the buses and waited quite a while in the cold for a bus. Guess I had just missed the big glut of buses right after the park closed :(

Made it back to the hotel and found Mom still eating dinner in the food court, so I booked it back to the room and picked up our mugs so Mom could have some coffee and I could have some hot cocoa! Gosh did that taste good with it being such a cold evening!!

Another full day in the books and I fell into bed about 11.

Love the photos, Amy! You even make the DHS hat look cool with the night shot! But...brrrrrrr...it looked cold in some of those photos...even the dog didn't look happy to be out there in that cold!

I never noticed the menorah until I saw it in this photo:

I wondered if they turned on a candle light for each night of Hanukkah or if they just light up in some blinking fashion? I notice only four candles are lit.

We know they have the leg table lamp there too. I wonder if they have anything for Kwanzaa?

Interesting observation mindflipper. I am going to have to check my photos and see if they did indeed light the Hanukkah candles! That would be just the sort of detail they might do :D
I never got a real good shot of the sorceror's hat...I just never though of it I guess

Now I am all caught up in this thread. M-dude I love the view from California Grill. Would be interesting to have seen some fireworks shots from there. I also wish you still kept the fishing excursion. Would have been great to read about the mouseketinkling.

Amy, great shots of the Osbourne lights. I actually did a closing time GMR tour and it was one of my more memorable and favorite ones. I did notice that they really weren't running any vehicles and held the tour until the vehicle was mostly filled. I also found the tour guide and gangster to be more personable and did the all time no-no of ad libbing. BTW: No bus pictures :D

But don't give Len90 any hints about the bus itself. Let's see if he can guess what type of bus it is.

Well, I know I have some of the bus floors and not much else, so he is going to have to earn his keep! I'm betting he can do it though ;)
