But I haven't been back since I moved last June :( I'm supposed to be going down to visit my family and friends the first weekend next month (February). I'll need to go and see what's left now.
It's basically a shuttered building that will more than likely be demolished in the near future. Wouldn't be surprised if that dance floor is already in a trash heap somewhere.

...or sitting in Mouse Surplus...or possibly sold to someone else. I remember reading one time that Disney did have a "scavenger" company that would gut buildings for re-usable/recyclable items.

Was there a couple weeks ago. They don't have it and they said Disney said no to selling anything from Pleasure Island when it closed.

I wonder why they weren't selling anything from PI?! :?

There are a number of reasons but we'll never know for sure.

Do you care to speculate? I won't hold you to anything ;) I'm just curious since they seem to have no qualms about selling other items...

Was that the club with the dance floor that rotates?

I wonder if part of the reason they are not selling stuff off yet is that they are looking to see what can be recycled? Like the adventurer's club stuff that was sent to Hong Kong.

I think the new corporate term for recycling and salvaging is now "investment recovery". That was the term I saw in article referring to Disney. Actually, that dance floor would be popular in HK if they had an area like Downtown Disney.

omg Mindflipper your right, I can so see that being used in HK. They just have to build a place, there's still room on their part of Lantau island but will fill up soon if they do any big expansion.

And Madeye if I could get confirmation it was somewhere I would drive down there in an instant and tie a rope to it and drag it back home lol

The clubs have been gutted (if they aren't right now, they will be very soon) since a little after they closed them in 08. Only things open on PI since then have been Paradiso 37 and Harley Davidson. Chances are if it is somewhere you can get to it, it is in many, many pieces that you can collect at a local dump.

I don't know if they would ship a dancefloor that far (taking in cost and whatnot) but they may harvest the mechanisim for something else at WDW since it has it's uses. I've never been to the club but it sounds like the car thing a friend of mine has in his driveway so that he can turn his car around to leave.

They've shipped a train from WDW to HKDL, they've shipped an electrical parade from WDW to DLP, and they've shipped an entire Fantasyland attraction from WDW to TDL. They've shipped alot from WDW to all over the world, so why not a dance floor?

Because it would be easier and cheaper to build a new one there compared to a high detail parade float, steam engine, and attraction?

Those aren't the only three. There's plenty that's been shipped from WDW to the other parks around the world. The dance floor can be disassembled and packed easily for shipping - a lot easier than a whole parade or a very heavy used steam engine.
