Sorry, Sorry, Sorry! I am so embarrassed to post this after all this time.
Ok I am just going to kind of rush through this to get it done...

Now it is Friday. It was a pretty sad day for us because my husband had to leave that morning. His business is weddings and he had two that weekend so he had to get back to work. :(
I told the other groups that I would meet them later on in the day, and my daughter stayed with Granny. It was time for a special morning with my son. We got up early and went down to the food court for Mickey Waffles. After that we headed off to the Magic Kingdom. I always like to spend a bit of alone time with him at Disney. He is really into the history of Disney and knowing everything about the parks. (Just like me!) Plus it was haircut time!!! :D Like I said before, he was really stressed out about this. My husband has always cut his hair and my son has very bad stranger anxiety.
He was ok until we actually got to the Harmony Barber Shop and then he sort of panicked. I am sure he would be upset with me for telling this but we had to leave once because he refused to get in the chair. After some persuasion  he finally went in, sat down, and got his haircut! After it was finally over he told me that it was not that bad and they were much more gentle than Papa. Because of his age and anxiety we didn't do the whole “first haircut” thing. The staff was very pleasant and understanding.
After that ordeal we went to The Chapeau for a new pair of custom Mouse ears. By now Granny and my daughter had arrived in the park and as soon as my daughter saw his new ears we had to go right back in and get her a new pair too.

Now, when my daughter and my mom arrived I found out that one of my friends had given my daughter a gift. I stared at the gift in disbelief. It was something I had been dreading and avoiding for all the years we had been going to Disney.  With one simple “kind” gesture these Disney rookies had unknowingly change my life at Disney forever. They had bought her a pin trading lanyard and one pin. My son liked the idea and since Granny was there she immediately bought him a lanyard and one pin. The next two days were consumed with Disney pins!!! Granny fueled the fire by purchasing new pins all over the place. There was nothing I could do to stop it! There was however one very interesting side effect to this new found pin trading madness. My son was all of a sudden willingly approaching cast members and very shyly asking to see their pins....This is a really really big deal believe me!

We focused most of our Friday on getting the other families caught up on what they had not done in Magic Kingdom yet. This was going well until the rain started. We spent a hour or so huddled under the bridge near the Splash Mountain play area hoping we could sneak in a ride. After we gave up on that, the family with the two girls decided to call it a day and head back to their resort. The rest of us stuck it out, dodging several torrential rain showers. At least The Country Bear Jamboree was dry! My friend laughed at my kids and I as we sang along to the whole show. (Thanks subsonic!)

I think we ended that night a bit early and went for a dip in the pool. My mom went off to spend some time with the other Grandmother and my son remembers that night as the night his sister lost her mind. My kids are not used to staying up late all the time and we had not been in bed before 10:00 all week long. So here we were in the pool at about 9:30 at night at the end of a long long week and my daughter just could not stop laughing. Nothing was even funny really but we thought for sure that she was going to drown because she was laughing so hard. It was pretty cute.
The next day was our last day to be in the parks.

Saturday morning we went to Animal Kingdom to ride the safari, which we had not yet done. I can't remember where the family with the two girls was that morning but our other friends came with us for the safari and then we split up. They were all going to finish up in Hollywood Studios but my mom does not enjoy that park and the kids and I didn't want to go back there either. We made a stop at the Animal Kingdom Lodge so my mom could see it and then we went back to Magic Kingdom for our last afternoon and evening. It was nice to just be the four of us for the last day. It was very relaxing.
The other groups texted me later that evening to let me know how they were doing in their attempt to see Fantasmic! Earlier in the week my kids and husband and I could not get in even though we had arrive about an hour early. I had warned my friends about this and they arrived at the theater about 90 min early. They reported that only the middle sections were full and the theater did not fill up until about 15 min to show time! I was glad that they got to see it because it was their first time.

Well that is about all I remember now. I will work on posting pics hopefully today....I realized I forgot to do any Epcot pics and I have a funny collection of pics that appeared on my son's camera too.

How great that your son got his first "official" haircut at Disney! I'm sure your kids will remember the pin trading fondly, I noticed several smaller guests enjoying trading with the CM's on this last trip.
The late night giggles are fun ~ much better than crying from exhaustion
Yay for more pics coming...and your longer-drawn out trip report makes me breathe a sigh of relief that maybe I won't be too bad at getting mine posted...it is going to take a while to whittle down the photos

Great report! Figured I was right about the haircut too.
Interesting side note there: Mouseoholic wanted me to get my hair cut there just for the heck of it so she could have pictures of the occasion. But I kept adamantly refusing. Finally she wore me down enough to actually go, but once there we saw how long the line was, and I didn't care for the way they didn't clean up the men's and boys' necks afterwards (I hate getting the post-haircut itchies...), so we left. I may still do it someday just for the experience though. Glad it went well for your son. :D

I had thought about it for Mom too but I figured she wanted to hang on to the extra hair for insulation against the cold

I guess we went on a good day because there was no line. And they did clean off my son's neck. Maybe when they have long lines they just rush through?

I agree! The photo of the son holding head down at the barber shop is priceless. I wonder if he would do the same now if he knew that photo was here on Subsonic for all of us to see. I can hear him now: "MOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!"
