CtE as far as I was aware of only had the one sequence.

Originally, Indy/TOFE had three diffrent sequences at the start. You entered the ante-chamber that had three large doors. You only went through one door really, but the audio and lighting would change depending what that "door" was told to be. It could either be: Fountain of Eternal Youth, Chamber of Earthly Riches, or Observatory of the Future. Depending upon which "door" you passed through, Indiana Jones' lines would change throughout the ride (which is why if you listen to some of the source audio you will notice Indiana Jones has multiple lines for the same part in the attraction). I was told that now all of this is set to random and doesn't actually follow the original program anymore like when the ride was first opened.

I guess the "different" doors in Indy were what I was thinking of...I never noticed much difference  I'm either not that observant or I always got the same sequence!

Two of the doors are fakes, and have fake tracks leading to them to make you think they're actual doors. There is only one door that opens, but it used to have different lighting and scripts/dialogue. I was told by a CM during my last visit a few years back that it was just changed to play random instead of precise set of audio/dialogue for each sequence all the way through. Any Socal members can confirm this is the case with Indy/TOFE?

Yes, I believe the original intention for Indy was to give the rider a slightly different experience each time they rode. The major components remain the same, but smaller details (such as Indy's lines or lighting cues) would change. I think I read somewhere in an article (perhaps in an old Disney Magazine) that there are at least few hundred different combinations when it's all said and done.

Day 4, Friday 12-3-10

The day dawned cold and clear. Once again, I can’t remember all the details, so I’ll just hit the highlights. We had a long day planned, so the first item on the agenda was a hearty breakfast at Chef Mickey’s with the Double Boilers.

We caught Minnie reading a love letter from Len:

After breakfast, we shopped a little at the Contemporary, then headed back to Coronado Springs for a resort break. It was too cold to go swimming, but nevertheless it was a gorgeous morning. So we walked the grounds and got a couple of nice pics, then went back to the room for a little nap.

Refreshed and ready to go, we set off to catch a bus to Epcot for our special-event luncheon with the WDW Today podcasters and the reunion folks from MEI-Mouse Fan Travel. We were a little late arriving at Epcot because the Bad Trip Gremlins struck again: we waited almost an hour for a bus to Epcot! There were at least two cycles of buses for all the other parks, and even three for MK, before we ever saw an Epcot bus. We were pretty steamed by the time we got there. Fortunately, though, the group was still eating, so we got to have our lunch.
Here’s a little background on the event: MEI-Mouse Fan Travel is a sponsor of the WDW Today podcast. If you’ve never tuned in to it, we highly recommend it. It’s very informative and lots of fun, especially when you tune in to one of the live broadcasts (they usually do a live show about once a month). We tune in when we can, and have even gotten on the air during a couple of the live shows and interacted with the hosts. Every year there is a big reunion with the MEI-Mouse Fan folks and the podcasters. Last year they held it at The American Adventure in Epcot. We were there for that reunion and the accompanying live show that they broadcast from there (some of you may remember a few of the pics in our trip report from last year), so we wanted to meet up with the gang again this year. We actually booked the first half of our trip through MEI-Mouse Fan so that we could get some of the perks, including access to this reunion luncheon and some of the other special meet-ups they were planning for this trip. So now that you have the history, here’s a few pics from the luncheon.
The luncheon was held in the Horizons pavillion. Here’s a shot of the room:

From left to right, it’s Beci Mahnken, Mike Scopa, Matt Hochberg, Len Testa, Mike Newell, and Annette Owens. The guys are the hosts of WDW Today, and the gals are with MEI-Mouse Fan Travel (some of you may also know that Matt Hochberg knows Subsonic personally, and he posts on this site as QuickGold. He hasn’t posted here in a long time, though. He’s been super busy with his other stuff):

After the luncheon, we almost didn’t go to the next part of the meet-up because we wanted to see the Boilers doing Dive Quest and there was a potential timing conflict. But it turns out that we did have time, so we went to what the Reunion gang call “the Skagway meet-up.” It’s where the whole group (about 200 of us) go on SSE at the same time, and at the end everyone puts their “where you’re from” location on the big monitor as Skagway, Alaska… so that a couple hundred faces all appear with the same location. It’s usually quite a hoot when they do that, but this time the system wasn’t working. Anyway, the C.M.’s actually formed us all up in our own private queue and closed off the main queue until we all got inside so that we could all go together. Here’s a few pics of our group completely taking over SSE (I nominate QuickGold as an honorary Mayhem Marauder… look at that mischievous face):

After the Skagway meet-up, we parted company with the Reunion gang and went to The Seas to watch the Boilers do Dive Quest. Here’s some shots from that:

After they finished and got cleaned up, they joined us for our ADR at La Hacienda de San Angel. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we grabbed a pager and then headed across to La Cava del Tequila to enjoy some Margarita mayhem while we waited. This is when I first discovered the famed Jalapeno Margarita:

Image

Then it was time for dinner. We really enjoyed ourselves, and the timing was perfect. We were just finishing up our meal when Illuminations started, and had a really cool view of the fireworks right through our window:

After dinner we went around the park creating mayhem on various rides. I don’t remember in what order we went, or every detail, but here are some pics. J.I.I. with Figment:

After a while, we were all exhausted. So we decided to call it a night and parted ways. The Boilers went out the back way to walk to the Yacht club, and we headed out the front. We stopped to get one more good night shot of SSE (we’re always trying to get better ones):

Image

We got back to our resort with no problems and got a good night’s rest in preparation for the big day tomorrow: The Mayhem Marauders’ meet-up! Woo-hoo!

Nice update M-Dude. I love the pics of Dive Quest. I also wanted to be there but that was the only night we could see the Osborne Lights and it's kind of a tradition for us. I think that shot of SSE is probably the best I have ever seen. The colors are so clear and bright. Please send me that one if you get the chance. I know you have my email address.

I always thought it would be cool to see someone diving at the Living Seas, but never had. How much cooler would it be to not only witness the dive but to kno the divers as well? That would be really cool!

Yay for seeing the double-boilers on their dive ~ b-dude looks like a pro! That is awesome that you guys were able to go and take photos of them!
Love the photos of Illuminations ~ great timing on the dinner ressie Mouseoholic ;)
That was fun seeing the inside of the Horizons Pavilion ~ is that what they call the old Odyssey pavilion now? Or am I confusing two buildings?
You captured a nice photo of Figment in his upside down open house. F1gment will love that one when she sees it! (Well...she'll like the fact that you have a photo of Figment, even though she's not too fond of any of the versions since the original...)

Now where was I...ah yes...starting this post after I was almost done with it just a few minutes ago and my computer...just...shut....down! So I shall try, try again!
Day 2 - Part II
After leaving my little giggling friends from Primeval Whirl, I headed off to enjoy Triceratops Spin, another new attraction for me It was cute! But these are the two things I really like to take photos of in Dinoland....
Image
Image
By this point I figured Mom would be as done as she would get with her huge chicken lunch so we met back up and headed over to see the Festival of the Lion King show, one of our favorites! I caught these few characters while we were waiting...
Image
Image
Image
We were standing in line, waiting for the theater to open, when my cell phone rang. Mom and I sort of looked at each other since I wasn't expecting any calls. It was one of my piano families, wondering what time their lessons were that evening. I hated to do it, but I broke the news that I was in Florida and wouldn't see them for another two weeks. We had a good chuckle over that since she realized as soon as I started to say, "well..." that we were on vacation in Florida! (I really had told them... twice...and left them a sticky note with the dates I would be gone  ) So the following sign will make me laugh when I remember that call ~ one of the only times in two weeks when I thought about work...ahhh, the bliss of vacation!
Image
I didn't get very many photos of the show since the camera battery died about the time the tumble moneys were starting to swing. So I sat back and enjoyed the show, and you'll have to wait for pictures until the next time we saw it ;)
We then decided to head back to the hotel to get settled in our new room. F1gment's rental scooter had been acting up too so I gave the company a call while we were on the bus and they listened to what the problem was, said it must be the "doo-hickey needing to be this-or-thated" and they would have a replacement to us within 3 hours, give-or-take. So I dropped Mom off at the room, zipped back, carefully of course, to drop the misbehaving scooter at bell services where a CM sort of looked surprised when I told her we would be getting a replacement yet that evening. That made me a little nervous, but what else could we do?
I grabbed some dinner and took it back to the room for Mom who was looking rather unhappily at the bed, a mere 12 - 16 inches off the floor and with more peaks and valleys than Expedition Everest. Oh no...so we made a few calls, were assured that someone would come and take a look, and see what could be done to make it "satisfactory". I had to make a trip back to the check-in desk since our room key was not working either. That took a long time, and unfortunately they couldn't quite figure out what was wrong with the keys. The CMs tried and tried, and finally came up with a generic key that would function as a room key, but not a charge card, or park ticket. Since we had APs at this point we really only needed the card to function as a key anyhow so off I went. They told me I would need to come back and get a "real" key sometime the next day. I was starting to think I would have to start and end each day at the check-in desk...sigh....
By this point it was a little after 8 so I checked with bell services and no replacement scooter yet...so back to the room, where....nothing had been done about the bed :( When I was filling Mom in on what all I had been doing, a few management CM's showed up and tried to figure out what they could do about the bed. They decided on calling housekeeping for a new mattress, and maintenance for bed risers. Bell services called, yay! the new scooter had arrived. So I walked back there to get that, it was exactly the same model but a color that Mom deemed "prettier, more scooter-y" whatever that meant! When I arrived back at the room, the new mattress had arrived but no risers. I was itching to get back to the parks, but Mom really wanted me to help remedy the bed situation, so I called, found out that maintenance had been notified but had never responded and that they would call them again, but they would come yet this evening. So...at this point I had given up getting back to the parks, :( grabbed my camera and cell phone, and with instructions for Mom to call if I was needed, set out to take some nighttime photos of the All Star Music resort. This little photo journey made me appreciate the fact that while we had moved from the Calypso building (the closest to the bus stop and food court), to the next further out building, the Jazz Inn, we were at least not as far out as the next three buildings  Those were a hike!!!
Image
Image
Image
Image
I liked this window that I found down at the end of the hotel buildings...
Image
And I loved the piano pool and note decorations in the concrete :D
Image
Image
These big silhouettes were at the end of each of the Jazz buildings and the outlines changed colors continuously...
Image
By the time I arrived back to the room it was almost 10:00 and still no bed risers. We finally gave up and went to bed at 10:30 figuring that we could get out of bed if they showed up that evening...but alas, they did not...

Those beds at the All Stars do tend take some abuse from the families that stay. I'm glad you were able to at least get a new mattress!

I admit it's one of the reasons I like the Swan - ahhhhhh, those "heavenly beds".......

Amy, seems like a never ending saga with your vacation issues. Glad to see Disney worked to resolve everything in a timely fashion.

M-dude: I had to dry off my computer screen with the Minnie Mouse photo caption. I never got a response from her :D Awesome pictures, especially that SSE (even though it is just ever so slightly off-centered :goofy_bounce: )

I am loving these reports and pictures of all the subsonic members. Keep it up!

PS> ATTENTION BOILERS..... your version of this trip report is required :D
