I know, a designated bus for obnoxious parents with even more obnoxious children

personally, i rarely get to sit going to or from the parks. due to lack of space i always stand w/ my stroller in the back stairwell as to not be in anyones way passing, and so that others (women, children, seniors) may sit. i too have noticed some rude families who have failed to pass down good manners from generation to generation. yet i have seen more more of another kind of people than that. the people who travel w/out children and seem angry that children are present at wdw. which is where this particular forum seems to be going. these people scowl at children and their parents. no meltdowns, no fun that is too loud, no acting silly. they are quick to comment their opinions of disapproval out loud. my wife and i went to disney for many years before we recently had our children. although at times it was irritating if not downright aggravating the way some children acted, we always remembered this place was equally theirs if not more so. in walts own words, he created this place so KIDS could have fun w/ their parents. i am not bashing on childless people, just reminding any angry people that as you enjoy walts dream, remember who it was designed for and try to be more tolerant.

Tolerance I understand, but a downright disregard for others sharing the same space...no, I don't find that to be ok. I don't think anyone on this forum who travels without children minds seeing kids enjoying WDW. In fact, as Mouskedude mentioned in the daytime photos at Disney thread, sometimes things are best viewed through the eyes of a child. I totally appreciate the fact that there will be meltdowns (that doesn't just apply to children, it also can apply to tired grown-ups!), and tired children getting hyper or simply having fun. I usually try to give a sympathetic look toward the parent, or perhaps a distracting goofy grin at the child having a bad moment. What I don't appreciate is when there are parents that expect their children to have every privilege (shoved in front at parades even though the "child" is as tall as me, or worse yet, asking if the child can stand in front of me (which I don't mind) and then having the child joined by their entire party of 14 so I can no longer see, not waiting their turn for characters, etc.) at the expense of other guests who do not have children. I think you are right nicklesm17, tolerance is something that should be shown by everyone visiting WDW, families of all different ages alikenicklesm17 wrote:personally, i rarely get to sit going to or from the parks. due to lack of space i always stand w/ my stroller in the back stairwell as to not be in anyones way passing, and so that others (women, children, seniors) may sit. i too have noticed some rude families who have failed to pass down good manners from generation to generation. yet i have seen more more of another kind of people than that. the people who travel w/out children and seem angry that children are present at wdw. which is where this particular forum seems to be going. these people scowl at children and their parents. no meltdowns, no fun that is too loud, no acting silly. they are quick to comment their opinions of disapproval out loud. my wife and i went to disney for many years before we recently had our children. although at times it was irritating if not downright aggravating the way some children acted, we always remembered this place was equally theirs if not more so. in walts own words, he created this place so KIDS could have fun w/ their parents. i am not bashing on childless people, just reminding any angry people that as you enjoy walts dream, remember who it was designed for and try to be more tolerant.

Precisely. Don't worry, nicklesm17, no one (least of all, me...) on these boards is "anti-child." In fact, my other comments speak for themselves (thanks, Amy, for pointing to my other post on the "Daytime pictures" thread). The problem is not the kids. It's "parents" (I use that term loosely) who don't have any manners, and are therefore actually harming their own children by not teaching them properly or setting the right example. Funny how people need a license to drive, a license to go fishing, a license to do practically anything else... yet any ingnorant selfish clown can pop out some kids and inflict the sad results on the rest of mankind....Amy wrote:Tolerance I understand, but a downright disregard for others sharing the same space...no, I don't find that to be ok. I love children. It's the "parents" I sometimes can't stand.

It is sad that sometimes the parents can be as immature and bad-tempered as a misbehaving child. There are those "brats" (children and adults alike) that can ruin the experience for the rest of us who don't misbehave. Where's Willy Wonka when you really need him?
Re: Disney Guest Caught On Vid Choking Bus Driver
I know you get a bad apple every now and then but personally I have never had a bus driver at Disney be anything but awesome ... very kind ... very informative ... and very encouraging!
