Thanks, sweetie.
Okay, there's so much to say, and so little time to say it.... I wracked my brain trying to think of the best way to post a 12-day-long trip report with over 2,000 pictures, and in the end my sweetie talked some sense into me. She said "Look, first you gotta focus on the big meet-up day... that's what people want to see."
So I agreed that the best thing to do would be to tell our story about the big day when we all met and hung out, and after that I could fill in the rest of the details, including back-tracking to our actual first day (we were there 4 days before the meet-up). So here goes:

The morning of the big meet-up dawned clear and cool... perfect for the mayhem to follow. Sadly, the whole 12 days just kinda blurs together in my mind right now, but I'll give it my best shot. I remember that we got up early, put on our Subsonic shirts and Mayhem Marauders buttons, and then had a quick bowl of cereal in our room at Coronado Springs before catching a park bus to MK for Rope Drop (sorry, Len, we didn't get the bus number). Little did we know that Amy and F1gment were there as well, and we probably stood almost right by them for the Rope Drop. But anyway, we rushed in and headed for Fantasy Land. It was important to us that we include MmeLeota and Chernobog40 as much as possible in spirit for the festivities, so we rode several rides with their picture boards, such as PPF, SWSA, and IASW, and even posed them in the stocks in Liberty Square:

About that time, we got in touch with Amy. She was not in the park yet, due to having forgotten some stuff in their room and having to head back for it... but she described her mom (F1gment) well enough over the cell phone that we were able to find her at Casey's Corner. While we were there with F1gment waiting for Amy, Mindflipper showed up. So we all got acquainted for a little while, and then set out to create some mayhem:

Mindflipper was kind enough to make sure that MmeLeota and Chernobog40 weren't left out:
Image

During the ensuing mayhem, we got in touch with the Boilers. They told us that they were running behind due to circumstances I'll let them explain in their report. But the bottom line is that they were not going to be able to join us until later. Meanwhile, we also got in touch with NaCler and his mom. We managed to meet up with them and hang out a little bit before they had to leave and do some other stuff they had planned (you'll notice that Mindflipper again made sure that MmeLeota and Chernobog40 were included... for purely unselfish reasons... had nothing to do with hiding his face or anything like that...):

Finally, the Boilers came and met up with us in Tomorrowland. About that time I had to leave to go back to our room and get the rum for the big meet-up later, so they all stayed together and did a few things before heading over to the Poly where I met up with them all right before our dinner. Mouseoholic didn't get any pictures of this part of the day, unfortunately.

Well, it's getting late and I'm super tired. I'll end this post for now and pick up again tomorrow where I left off (at the Poly, just before dinner...).

I am SO proud of you! And you got lucky. That VM fits your personality perfectly! Which one did you want to get?

I started out getting them for my kids, but I am quickly falling for them and mom is completely hooked on them! I'm going to blame it all on mindflipper. He gave me one and that snowballed everything!

Nice try, NaCler, but you dudes had already been shopping/purchasing before I gifted you that vinylmation (BTW no photo of it with the other vinylmations you bought?). Can't blame me! You were hooked before my gift....

BTW there was one you were seeking when we had dinner at O'hanas but you said that they were sold in plain boxes that you were not allowed to open and see which one was inside. Did you ever find that figure?

I can always BLAME you... it just might not be true. ;) On the photo... I haven't uploaded the VM pics yet. When I do, I will post it in the VM thread. I don't want to be smacked on the hand for off topic straying... ;)

I was looking for ANY of the Toy Story series (mainly Buzz and Wheezy) for my boys as those were the ones that they really wanted. The TS series was sold out on all of WDW property and we were only able to find Rex by trading. But, we got them a couple of others that made them happy. Thank you for asking!

EDIT: Since mindflipper asked so nicely and it really was a great present, here is the VM that started it all:

Thanks mindflipper! I have it on my desk at work.

I was curious about them but M-dude always held me back. I had my eye on the one I actually got but really was looking for Herbie the Love Bug #53. Now that EE is my favorite ride, I want that one too...
Image
Image

I started too late in our trip. I have to admit I really did not understand the draw until I realized you could trade them. Then I could see how fun it could be. Even if you bought one and it was not the one you wanted you could still eventually trade it for one you do want. The lady at our hotel was helping a customer trade his. We had a brief conversation about how to get a Herbie. She looked in her box to see if she had one but did not. She suggested D Street in DTD but we were never able to make it there. M-dude and I play VW Slug Bug all of the time. My grandfather had his own VW repair shop and everyone in our family are or were at one time bug owners. My dad even invented fiberglass floor pan replacement parts for bugs and still holds a patent with the US Patent Office for it. One of my bucket list items in life is to buy a VW Bus and fix it up. There was even talk and concept art for a new VW retro bus coming out but that never happened. The concept art is so cool! So you can see why I want one. When EE was down on Thursday for 3 hours we walked around the gift shop. There was nothing left to do or buy except a VM. Since I conquered my fear of EE, M-dude was more willing to give into my whim for a VM. I was so thrilled when I actually got one I wanted! Image

BTW MmeLeota, we were so thrilled to have you guys join us. It was fun having virtual friends on the trip!

Mouseoholic - Very nice. I was pretty much the same way. We bought a couple then tried trading at the hotel and at a couple of stores in the parks. It was actually kind of fun. The CM's always wanted us to open them right when we bought them so that they could see what we got. I thought I had heard you mention that you wanted the Love Bug one so I kept an eye out for it but I did not see it. If I find one I'll be sure to pass it along to you.

And congrats on EE! I knew you would enjoy it, you just need to get over that initial fear. I love that ride... I just never get the time to go over to Animal Kingdom. :D

You are right about the CM's. The CM at the resort wanted the person that bought one wanted them to open it so they could see. As for EE, I feel sorry for the Boilers. The hour leading up to actually riding the ride they all watch as I talk myself into riding and then out of riding 100 times. I almost backed out but I was so ready to do something new. All of the rides were getting boring and I knew I needed to step it up a notch on this trip. =) I am just really sorry now that I did not ride Splash with you guys. Me and your mom would have had about the same face! LOL

We will for sure all have to plan a trip where we can meet up for a day or so and ride EE!

I think I am going to have to make a trip over to the Disney Store for another VM when we get better! M-dude and I are home sick today so not today but very very soon!

Thank you all so much for your great comments so far. You all mean more to us than you know. :D
MmeLeota: of course we'll be "real friends" some day. We'll figure out a way...
Mindflipper: of course I'm going to go back and post the rest of the story. Stay tuned! 8-)

Meanwhile, let's continue with the rest of the events of the big meet-up night. As I mentioned, I had to go back to the resort to pick up the rum. But before I left, we rode the Peoplemover with Mindflipper and NaCler and his mom:
In this pic, Mindflipper was kind enough to make sure that MmeLeota and Chernobog40 enjoyed the ride with us:
Image

In this pic, Mindflipper was kind enough to show us the total number of Mayhem Marauders who were expected to show up for dinner:
Image
After that, the rest of the group went on to do other things while I headed back to the resort for the rum. They can fill in the relevent details in other posts.

So continuing on with my part of the story, when I got to the Poly, everyone was waiting for me to arrive so that we could be seated at our table. Here's some shots of the mayhem that followed:

After dinner, we were running a little late as was mentioned in previous posts. So we hurried over to......
Image

....to grab our Dole Whips and rush out to the beach. Here I am with Boilerbabe, getting our Dole Whips. Interesting that we are out of focus, and the camera actually caught ths other random couple in this shot.... could this accidentally be MadEye and his girlfriend....? We may never know...
Image

At about this time, tragedy struck: our camera battery died! Mousehoholic and I were practically suicidal over this, but fortunately there were others with cameras who could capture the rest of the ensuing mayhem. I'll defer to them to continue the story from here. :(

After the whole night has been pretty-much posted here, I'll come back and continue with back-tracking to the days leading up to this, followed by more trip report and pictures of the days after.

Okay, Boilers and Amy... you're up!! Don't forget the shots of Boilerdude and the rum!
