Disney inspired pet names.

Post by rick2vick » Oct Thu 27, 2005 11:38 am

We are getting our new beagle puppy from the breeder today (a playmate for our other beagle). Our family recently went through a lengthy process of selecting a name. Some of the names that we considered are either directly or loosely Disney inspired. They include Bulls Eye, Charlie, Disney, Dash, Gus, Mickey, Nemo, Pluto, Simba, Sport, Tigger, Tramp, and Woody. I'm curious who out there has a pet(s) with a Disney inspired name, and what is it?

PS
Sorry, the name we ended up choosing is Bandit (Jonny Quest's dog).

My friend does have a dog named Lady now. I never really thought of using a Disney themed name for a pet. Pluto seems kinda neat.

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

Don't ask me how, but we've ended up with a John Wayne theme. Our first dog was Duke (John Wayne is always referred to as "The Duke"). The one we have now is named Jake (a character John Wayne payed in a movie). Down the road when we get another we're going to name him Sam. (A dog John Wayne had in a movie . . . "my dog Sam don't take kindly to pettin' . . . "

We have adopted all our pets, and they've all come with Disney names. Everything thinks we've named them. We've got a border named Daisy, a schipperke named Max, and a guinea pig named Tinkerbell. Well, there's also the cockatiel named Feevo, but I'm not keen on his longevity in the household so he doesn't count. :)

I actually work with stray cats and take care of a feral colony. I give most of the cats Disney names. The best part is once in a while I will get a friendly cat and can find them a home. Two years ago I adopted out a cat with the name Belle and the new owners kept her name. Yes, I am a responsible care giver. We trap, neuter, give shots and release.

I had white mice named all after "Beauty and the Beast" characters when I was about 8.

I had a cat named Simba, & Fidget (101 Dalmatians puppy from live-action movie) both of these cats live in my moms house.

I currently have three cats named: Belle, Kuzco & Stitch.

When we were getting my current Golden, I really wanted to name him "Simba" but the rest of the family did not want to. Now, he has so much fur that he looks like a lion. His nickname is Simba and we called him that all the time. His actually name is Chauncey. I love the name "Disney". May use that myself the next time. My neighbor has a red cat named Nemo!

My cousins own two cats named Peter and Tinkerbell. They've been around since we were younger. Once for Christmas our family got two goldfish, which happened to have a similar color pattern to the cats (or so we thought at the time) so we also named them Peter and Tinkerbell. Then Tinkerbell died, so we got a new Tinkerbell. Then Peter died, so we got a new Peter. Then they both died, so we got a new Peter, a new Tinkerbell, and a snail. The snail outlived Peter III and Tinkerbell III by about two years. Moral of the story? Goldfish aren't the best pets. Get a snail instead. :?

Such cute names. There is an orange cat down the hall from me named Nemo. The next time I get two kittens, if one is male and the other female, I intend to name them Mickey and Minnie. I used to call one of the stays that I took care of Belle. She was so friendly I was lucky enough to find her a home for her and her owners now call her Lady Belle.

I used to have 6 fish -- named after the 7 dwarves. Who was missing? Sleepy. I just assumed sleepy would have been sleeping all the time anyway, so why bother.
