Yes, I love that site. I should contact that guy about becoming an affiliate.

I like that site too! I was telling some friends of mine about the mule rides at DL, and they thought I was nuts..... until I showed them they did exsist. Used to love to ride the mules way back when I was a little gal.

I love Yesterland. SO much of the appeal of this site, and that one is the nostalgia of a happy childhood visit to Disneyland in the mid 1970s.

Someone fill me in...whats this rockit mountain thing?? PLEASE tell me they didn't mess with Space mountain? I would DIE if I walked into the tunnel and I didn't hear that typical "star tunnel" music

right at this moment Rockit Mountain is nothing more than a rumor and some unlit fiber optic effects behing the word "Space" in the new Space Mountain sign. Sub wrote a little blurb about it in another thread (see here). Sub mentioned a Mouseplanet.com article that told a little of what it COULD be.
Mouseplanet.com wrote:Imagineers hinted that there were even more surprises to be revealed when Space Mountain returned in July, and there have been rumors that the ride would be subtly transformed at night, perhaps with a new music track. It seems there is some merit to the rumors, as close inspection of the newly installed Space Mountain sign outside the attraction shows a second set of fiber-optic lights that read “Rockit Mountain.” It is also possible that Disney will reopen Space Mountain in July as planned, and save the launch of “Rockit Mountain” for Spring 2006, when Tower of Terror is scheduled to receive the new random-drop upgrade.
A search on both Disneyland.com and just Disney.com yeilded absolutely no results while searching for "Rockit". Nothing about it even on the Disneyland.com Space Mountain attraction page.

I don't think a ride like that is possible. Not yet anyway. The ride systems that monitor the progression of time and the events that happen (feature failure, station stops, ride stops, emergency stops...etc) and the Ride status (station gates) and the show status (making sure all the effects and audioanimatronics are in proper working order) all work on consistency. They read errors, and those are the only things that register. The theory of a time-efficient ride would break the consistency on which the ride systems are programmed to run safely. When an inconsisteny in registry happens, it results in a downtime. I doubt the ride system could handle it.

Unless, of course, there were two ride systems, and at a certain time of day, one is shut down while the other is turned on. Even if it takes a half-hour to reset all the animatronics, I'm sure such technology exists.

wow. while that article highlights some interesting updates, I'm dreading the "updates" to the animatronics and adding of movie characters to these classic rides. When I go down to WDW, I like that MK has these classics which bring back fond memories of trips past. I don't want those memories destroyed/altered by changes like this.

But, I guess it's the way of the world today...

This is the worst news I have heard yet from Disney. Now they are complete sell outs in my opinion and have no imagination at all.

I wonder if this means the "No Fear Have Ye Of Evil Curses..." and the "Perhaps you knows too much, ya've seen the cursed treasure, you knows where it be 'idden" voiceovers in the dark caverns will go bye-bye? Those are my faves...

Interesting. I'm still up in the air about it. Love the original ride and love how you can sorta make your own story as you go by.

I thought was movie was all right, but not worthy to replicate in the attraction. I'm excited to see the changes, but at the same time sad. But it's not like I'll stop going on the ride just because.
