I always love staying at a deluxe but moderates have there own different greatness. The moderates are more expansive with lots of cool little nooks and cranny's to seek out. The guests I have also found quite a bit friendlier at moderates, but staff is generally worse at moderates.

speaking of the moderates, it's not really a lobby, but I like the fountain at POFQ. You can do some great people watching there.

Agreed on that. The courtyard at riverside by the rental place is a really interesting people watching area too.

I find it interesting if you're in a lobby (any lobby) around mid-morning to see the contrast between those people just arriving and those checking out. The look of anticipation and sheer joy on the faces of those checking in compared to the looks of those leaving. And the looks on the faces of people leaving run the gamut themselves. Some parents look like they are spent. Some look relieved to be heading home. Some look like they really want another week or two to stay (they are usually sans children) and some look like they were ready to leave two days earlier.

I noticed that the last time I was down there. I was waiting in the lobby of the Boardwalk waiting for some friends at about 10AM. I was having a coffee, reading the paper and just taking it all in. There was a lot of traffic in and out with a lot of luggage. You saw just about every emotion you could imagine. The best I saw was a little girl who was just arriving with her parents. She was so happy and excited. And then she saw another little girl who was just leaving and was quite sad (read:crying b/c she was leaving). The smile was gone. But only for a minute as if out of respect for her peer who was heading home and didn't want to. It was quite amusing.

DAK Lodge - Jumbo House is really great with the artwork, too. It's like a small African art museum. It's also really neat at Christmas time when they have their Christmas tree set up that's 3-4 stories tall.

My favorite lobby in the World is the Polynesian. The flowers and water make me feel like I'm in the islands!

Seems like we all love many of the same lobbies. Does anyone have a least favorite lobby?

I'm not too fond of the lobby of either the Caribbean beach resort or Port Orleans Riverside - too busy!

I have to say, I think the Caribbean Lobby is lacking! It's attached to absolutely nothing! Whereas most resorts have their lobby/check in area attached to the quick service area, gift shop etc...

Hmmmm.... wonder if "least favorite" is appropriate for this thread...? Well, anyway, why not... I'd have to say the Swan and Dolphin lobbies just don't "sing" for me. They're too "late-70's business-ish". Just don't have that Disney Magic... of course that's probably because they're not Disney, really...

I would say the All-Stars are my least favorite. Much too noisy. And tacky. But then again, I loved staying there. The rooms are nice.

The Poly for the reason that it is where we stayed through the 70s -- the smell/aroma in the lobby alone will bring tears to my eyes. But the Wilderness Lodge sure is sumpthin!
Step out to your left please. When the car stops, step out to your left.

That is the same reason I love the Poly, the smell! I wish you could bottle that lobby smell and it take it with you!
