Evasive maneuver... I like it. Just remind her that in 2 weeks she can Disney shop without paying any shipping costs at all.

I can't imagine with the competitive holiday shopping season that the Disney Store On-line won't be offering free shipping again sometime in the next few weeks...

DW's birthday is a week from Friday (Black Friday this year)...so I am hoping it comes in before that. She wanted earrings but she can get those for Christmas as the purse will be enjoyed much more I am sure.
DW's birthday is always around Thanksgiving and my birthday is around Christmas (Dec 27th) so we are holiday babies. Puts a little bit of a strain on the finances this time of year no doubt...but we make the best of it.

I have two cousins with the same uncle that have holiday birthdays too - April 1st (April's Fools Days) and July 4th. It's funny how the holiday people seem to naturally group together somehow...

Can't she shop now and later?

Love the new avatar NaCler ~ you are really quite a thoughtful person to put a Vinylmation as your avatar so everyone can enjoy it every time you post!!

And it is a Captain EO too right?!

Amy - Yep, I wanted a subtle change in avatar. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I know they will.

I'm on it.... But she did promise me that "this time she doesn't need to buy very much..." Yeah, right...

Oh, so you'll only need
one extra suitcase this time around?

Better way than that: ship it. USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes - regardless of weight, it ships for one price - "if it fits, it ships". You can pack the unfolded flat boxes in your luggage, and get prepaid stamps for the postage of the box. Fill it up, address it to your home in Houston, and drop it off with the hotel front desk to mail it for you. Painless, and saves the extra luggage.
Cheaper too, when you consider how much you have to pay the airlines to take just one piece of luggage to and from nowadays...

Spoken like a true postal worker....
But you've got a point Mindflipper...with the cost of checking a bag anymore (unless you're flying Cattle 'r' Us...er, I mean Southwest
(I fly them too...)) it would probably be cheaper to mail stuff home.

Oh, Lord, don't give Mouseoholic any ideas!
Actually, we used to ship ourselves a "care package"
going to WDW on each trip, timed to arrive on or just before the day we check in. We ship stuff like paper plates, plastic cutlery, boxes of cereal, bottles of "ambience," coffee... you know: all the stuff we like or need that's much cheaper to get at home and/or that's not available at the resort. This is especially practical when we're staying at DVC resorts with kitchens, because then we usually plan on eating more often at "home". Last year I don't think we did that though, because we didn't take the M.E. but instead used a private shuttle service that let us stop at a grocery store on the way to the resort. But shipping stuff ahead is a good method to use for cutting down on the amount of luggage you need to take, and it's cheaper than the cost of checking an extra piece of luggage in most cases.
