Vinylmation
I don't think these have been discussed in any formal thread or in any great detail and probably for great reasons. However, my kids seem to be falling in love with some of these designs and it is kind of rubbing off on me. I came across this one and recommended it for Jacca's love:
Do you collect these or LOATHE these? Are they the equivalent of Duffy the GREED bear?
I like this one... EPCOT CENTER '82:
and this one... Haunted Mansion Clock:
They are relatively inexpensive by Disney standards (sold as low as $5.99) and you can even trade them now. The intriguing thing about these is that most of them are sold in a mystery box so you don't know exactly which one you will get. If you don't like it, there is a place in every resort/many gift shops that let you blind trade. So, you could trade throughout the day and never know what you will end up with at the end of the day. Your thoughts???

Re: Vinylmation
I don't collect but I do have a big grey one with all the old EPCOT Center logos all over it.

I'm with b-babe. Some are cute, some are just downright weird. I probably wouldn't buy one since you don't know which one you are getting. I do like the one you found for mindflipper though ~ Mickey as Jack is very cute =

Re: Vinylmation
Some of them are okay, like the Muppets ones are ones I know I would buy. Some of them are really ridiculous looking.

Re: Vinylmation
I appreciate the thought, NaCler, but I'm with B-babe and Amy on this one. I've hated these things since the beginning and put them on the same level as Duffy the Corporate Greed Gimmick Bear. It is especially blatant that they put them in mystery boxes so you have to buy a bunch just to get one you might want. All that is bad enough, but to me they're just plain ugly. They look like a cheap knockoff of Disney stuff from some third-world country.
Sorry for the venom, and no offense to your kids or anyone else who likes them, but.... YUCK!

M-dude... you don't have to apologize. That's why we have these Forums, so that we can discuss what we like and don't like about Disney including the stuff they sell. I don't own any of them but as I said, since my kids think some of them are cute, I will probably have to buy a couple of them on our next trip as presents (which is only fitting as I am going to WDW without them).
I count these as slightly different from Duffy the Greedy bag-of-fluff, because they are actually Disney related (as they are in the shape of Mickey and they usually have a Disney character or attraction printed on them) and not just some random stuffed animal that they slapped Mickey heads all over.
I just thought it was kind of fun seeing which Vinylmation would fit with our various SUB-personalities.

Re: Vinylmation
I absolutely HATED these things when they first came out. They were Miceky-shaped but downright creepy looking to me. But as they have released more and more, I have found that there are quite a few that have grown on me. I like the Muppets ones the best. The larger plush ones have been in the Disney Character Warehouse, but I can't seem to bring myself to even buy one. I'll just keep looking at the pictures. (Unless a MmeLeota one is released, then I might have to find one )
I've never seen the HM one NaCler! Thanks for sharing that one.

Re: Vinylmation
Okay... (resolve weakening...), I can see where some of it might be okay...(actually liking this one...), and granted that at least they use the shape of Mickey for the most part (gosh, that thing really is cute...), it's understandable that some folks might get into it... (dang, if Boilerbabe likes this, then I'm really toast...). So I'll try to dilute a wee bit of the venom... at least for now...NaCler wrote:For Boilerbabe... it is definitely the diver:
