Maybe they are just refurbishing the tombstones?! I hope that is all they are doing?! They might be doing a test to see how an interactive queue will be received too...NaCler wrote:More great pics on the expansion... and even though it crosses threads, the report is that the tombstones are gone from The Haunted Mansion... for now. What could they be doing???

Heck, doesn't look like much of the park is open - it's all under repair! Hope it all gets done by Dec. 4!Amy wrote:Maybe they are just refurbishing the tombstones?! They've already done the test for an interactive queue. Very temporary and very brief.Amy wrote:Maybe they are just refurbishing the tombstones?! I hope that is all they are doing?! Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
I'm not surprised to see that there is so much work currently going on at WDW. The weeks from September-Early November are usually a lot slower when compared to the summer peak season and the holidays. I would think that some of the stuff should be open by then...especially Pooh who should reopen in November.
It is interesting to see the changes in IASW. I always wonder why the keep switching loading sides. However, the new coat of paint on the exterior is SHINY!
I really hope the new roof on Mad Tea Party will look better than the previous one. I hated that tent look to it.
Good to see construction progressing. I do find it very ironic that CRT will have the windows blocked during the heart of the construction. Such a shame that we lose out on that vantage point.

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
assuming my flight out of chicago is not delayed (high winds), i'll be flying out in 3 hours! wahoooo! then again, a last minute browse through this post leaves me a little nervous too. no tea cups or pooh (even the thoughtful shop is closed) for my kids. i really hope all this doesn't spoil the trip, more and more i'm thinking maybe we should have went to disneyland this year. we'll see if my wife pressured the right choice or not. no more posts for me... for the next 10 days anyway. i'll let you all know if the magic is still there or not when the magic is over (for this year) for me. talk to everbody then.

Update: There are now thirty 25ft oak trees behind the construction walls. No one knows exactly why. They are not planted either. Take it for what you will

The Enchanted Forest?
Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
If it was for landscaping, it is way early for their delivery. Most people are thinking to discourage taking photos from Dumbo. As with most things at WDW, time will tell.kcarts wrote:The Enchanted Forest?

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
Very interesting. I also wonder if the giant dirt pile was another way to hide the scene. This is a very interesting situation. I really think Disney would have done this sooner as Dumbo will only be going for another couple of months. It's already been at least 4-5 months since the walls went upMadEye wrote:Update: There are now thirty 25ft oak trees behind the construction walls. No one knows exactly why. Not sure Disney would fork over that kind of cash just to hide construction.
Time will tell, I guess.

I've always hoped we might have some influence, but can you imagine what would happen if we really had that kind of power?!Amy wrote: NOOOOOOO! They have been reading our plans on the forum again

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
just got back, your best view is from the dumbo ride. some structural steel is up, but still a lot of dirt (and ground equipment). completion of this is a long way off. certainly some new buildings are in the works, but beyond that, it's still anybody's guess.

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
The latest I read is they might be closing Snow White's Scary Adventures to make room for an updated or even entirely new ride...I am conflicted on this since I really like the attraction now, but it could be much, much better. Or much, much worse if Imagination has anything to do with the re-do
Has anyone else heard anything? I don't think they are planning anything until the Fantasyland expansion is completed or near completion though...
