Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
I was bummed out when they were only still laying the tracks for the Red Car when I went this summer. I know it takes time to build but I would have hoped it be done this year.
I want to embrace my inner Eddie Valliant.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
It is a matter of logistics and crowds. The crowds affect the construction since the more you can have open the more people you are allowed to have in the parks (Max occupancy). If they closed down Aladdin in the summer months they would have lost 1000 off of the Max Occ. Disney needed that for the WoC crowds, plus it is bad show to close down one of the more popular attractions in DCA. The logistics part was due to the cut through between Flik's fun fair and ToT, if this didn't get finished first nobody could have gotten to ToT (another 2000 off of max Occ., plus it is highly popular). One of the biggest obstacles Disney has to deal with is keeping the park running "smoothly" while getting this stuff done, honestly they could have closed DCA for 1 1/2 years and finished everything all at once (doubt anyone would have noticed) but that doesn't help the bottom line. They still make money in DCA and they want to continue doing it.
Wow how I have missed posting about all of this stuff.

The re-themed pool at the Disneyland Hotel looks pretty nice as those Monorail slides look cool. Especially the night-time drawings.

Wow that was a great update. It seems like the Halloween stuff just went up out of nowhere, but it is only 6 weeks away. Good to see they have a lot of refurbishments scheduled to clean a few things up. Should be interesting if Mermaid is open for the Spring. Looks like they will have a lot to do in the next 6-8 months.

They're doing a real steady job with Mermaid and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress. Hopefully by the end of the year there will be a lot more done.

The outside of the building looks fantastic! I only hope the interior attraction is as well done!elizabethswann wrote:They're doing a real steady job with Mermaid and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress. Hopefully by the end of the year there will be a lot more done.

I hope they get the exterior done and be a bit more secretive with the interior. I don't want to be spoiled.Amy wrote:The outside of the building looks fantastic! Ok, so I just checked that article at the top of the page. Why exactly is the dragon called "Murphy"?

I think it is because of "Murphy's Law" since Malificent had so many problems during installation and before she was up and running.Wizzard419 wrote:Ok, so I just checked that article at the top of the page. Why exactly is the dragon called "Murphy"?

And now that the dragon's down again, the name is going to forever stay with me.Amy wrote:I think it is because of "Murphy's Law" since Malificent had so many problems during installation and before she was up and running.Wizzard419 wrote:Ok, so I just checked that article at the top of the page. I'm a bit behind on reading my updates, but I have to agree NaCler, that pool looks pretty awesome, especially at night with the waterfallNaCler wrote:The re-themed pool at the Disneyland Hotel looks pretty nice as those Monorail slides look cool. Especially the night-time drawings.
