I actually have the original DL wording (X. Atencio, I think) on my wall here at work...
"When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls... whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still... that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight. Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion..."

That's right. X did some voicework on the exit and breakdown spiels, but most were never used in the final attraction. Paul Frees is the voice of the Ghost Host in the American parks.Club33Hopeful wrote:I believe it was X that wrote the lyrics, but it was Paul Frees who said them.

Yeah, it might be better if the quality was better.

yeah, I wish some of the tracks we had were better. That's one reason I have my soulseek program constantly looking for WDW stuff. I've actually found a few good tracks that are being renamed/uploaded now. Should be included with the next batch that Sub puts up.

That's how I was a few weeks ago with the Paris Frontierland tracks! I just hoped other listeners weren't going, "oh no, not again!"spaulo wrote:I know I should hate it, but I'm totally addicted ... so if anyone dreads that one, I apologize...
but I just. can't. stop.
I'm happy to report that now, with lots of familial support, and breathing exercises, I am now on the path to recovery.

No, no... He's got a point.

Personally, I enjoy all the background loops. I find the attraction run-throughs too distracting, unless my purpose is just to sit down and listen to the audio. Having the whole Mansion spiel going in the background when I'm trying to get some work done is a bit counterproductive.
The loops do a better job of stroking my unconscious and sparking pleasant memories than the overt stuff.
As for what I can't stand, as much as I love the Mansion, it is way overplayed. Also I find Ellen unbearable.

Hehe. I understand that. Everytime I try and study or do homework, I turn up the Subsonic radio and then get settled for some studying. Everytime I do that- CoP is on, or it's always Adventures Through Inner Space. Last night two version of Inner Space played within minutes of each other. It drove me nuts.Esmeralda wrote:The many different full versions of Carousel of Progress over the years drive me crazy when I'm trying to do homework!
I do love the backround loops though. Perfect to listen to and attempt to get some work done.
Whatever; i'm over it
