To be fair...she thinks all history and science things are a bit boring and I am the exact opposite. I can watch things on the History Channel and Discovery Channel all day...every day...and never get tired of it.
She probably couldn't help it ~ as far as I can gather after reading all these posts (and from my own personal experience observing my Mom) Disney pumps some sort of sleeping gas into the American Adventure theater on a regular basis :D

I always wondered if the reason that the american adventure feels like you're in a refrigeration chamber was based on the concept that letterman and other comics use, "Keep 'em cold and they will be alert", but it backfired and makes the people fall asleep like lobsters in the freezer.

I sleep with the window open so it doesn't bother me at all. I would be fine dozing off in dark rides no problem.

Hurry, lets get her into Tower of Terror to test my theory!

Actually, the only part that is jarring enough to probably wake me up is when the door opens from the 5th dimension into the drop shaft. Even though it's pitch black you know you're near the outdoors becuase you hit this wall of humid/hot air.

You probably wouldn't notice so much at night in the winter in Florida :D

Oh man, I was in Tampa a few years ago during the end of October. Every day and night was pretty warm and humid, then the morning (it was early) I was leaving it apparently decided to go to winter mode. I didn't realize the weather shifted so fast in Florida.

Went to college in Tampa. Between Dec and Feb the weather can change at a moments notice! One Christmas we actually saw snow flakes!!! That's not what most people would think of in Florida. Don't get me wrong, you might have two days of COLD (below 40) weather and then it's right back up into the 80's.

Yeah, this is why I try my hardest to never be above the 33rd parallel past the month of September.

Houston is just as crazy, weather-wise. We usually have awesome winters: clear, warm, with a few days of cold (definition of cold: below 50, LOL), but almost every year we get at least one freak cold front that drops it into the 30's or 20's for a while. We've even been getting a couple days worth of snow every winter for the last few years (whoa....! *sarcasm, off*).
Once in a great while we'll actually get enough snow that it sticks and builds up enough to make snowmen and stuff. You should see it: everyone panics. I grew up in snow country (Oregon and Montana), so I get a kick out of seeing how people attempt to drive in the stuff around here when it happens. They just don't know what to do.
But I digress..... It's really fun when we go to WDW in the winter and it actually gets cold. People totally freak out, but we love it.

Most "Oh my god I'm going to die of hypothermia" expeirence, DFW airport, coming back from New Orleans. It was nice and warm/mild in Orleans, get off the plane at the layover and exhaled a darn cloud. It was only like a 50 foot walk to the terminal but darn it was freezing out there.

Yeah, we do get an occasional freak cold front in March too. Sounds like you just got unlucky to run into one on that trip.

What are we considering cold? A cold morning in January in Florida is a warm afternoon in New England and might be be a record high in Minneapolis!

Anyone who was in WDW for this year's marathon will tell you that it was freezing. I thought it was cool. There was a day where it was sleeting and raining and only about 40 degrees. That was a touch uncomfortable. The rest of the time it was in the upper 40's and low 50's. CM's were bundled up like Nanook of the North. I had shorts and a sweatshirt on. I guess it's all relative.
