Hacienda de San Angel Restaurant

Post by NaCler » Sep Wed 08, 2010 11:12 am

Haven't seen a topic on this one but according to WDWNT it's supposed to be opening next week. Has anyone heard a report on how this one is coming along? I called the dining line a month ago and they said that they did not know when they were going to be open for ADR's. I'd love to try this out in December somehow.

I forgot, is that the table service resturant or the quick service place outside?

If it's the table service place, is it just a rennovation or did a new resturant group take it over?

we had eaten there in the past, the food was acceptable. never bad, but certainly not a must for your visit to epcot. reliable, would be a good description, hopefully it will become better. it is still slated to be opened on sept. 16th. so i'm sure an announcement will be forthcoming shortly. supposedly it is to remain quick service, but i believe i heard that in addition to the new seating actually on the lagoon outside, they are supposed to have indoor seating as well. will these both be quick service? or half full, half quick? not sure on that one, earlier i heard both, but recently all quick, so we'll see. i'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if/when i hear more.

Ah, I was just reading about what the upgrades are going to be. It soulds like they are going to make it more upscale by serving more than slurpie machine margaritas and are also jumping on the paletas bandwagon. Good times.

That patio on the water looks really relaxing! I'm guessing dinner ADR's are going to be near impossible to get since that would be awesome Illumination viewing :D

Thanks for the info, nicklesm17. Being a connoisseur of Mexican food, I can't wait to check it out!
Only 1 question: why a mixologist from NYC for margaritas? Get one from the Southern States, like Texas or New Mexico, or even Southern California if you want a true proficient for margaritas and can't (or don't want to) get one from Mexico.

I think it comes down to, If you want the best of anything, you go to New York! This mixologist from NYC was most likely stolen from a restaurant in the South West. ;+>

I sure hope the margarita thing doesn't get as out of hand as the martini thing did. I don't care that you put it in a coctail glass, it doesn't automatically make it a martini if it strays beyond the established confines. So help me god if you shake that gin I will cut you!
