I collect pins that I like and espescially the LE pins. But, I am not into pin trading... at least not yet I have a couple of full lanyards and one pin album that I am working on filling up. I try to get a "year" pin every time I visit and on special occasions like going on my B-Day for the very first time thanks to my fiance' who couldn't believe that as much of a Disney nut as I am I never managed to go on my B-Day. :goofy_bounce:

I really thought we didn't collect Disney pins. Baloo showed me how many we have. I guess we do, they're just all over the house and not in one place. I didn't know!

I think I bought some also. I was most likely being a little ambient! It just amazes me with the stuff you bring back because you got (In my best Jewish merchant) such a deal! We've got to stay away from the outlet mall!

I started in 2004 with two pins, a Scrooge McDuck pin and a basic Stitch pin. Every year since then, I've filled up roughly one side of a page in one of those pin bags per trip. I've gotten a few through Mail Order and eBay as well, but haven't put them in my bag yet. By the time I finish putting this year's pins in, I should have the front and back of one page left. So, nothing too extensive, but I do enjoy pins. Just so expensive, though. :?

Mostly I collect Donald pins. Also Wilderness Lodge and some ride pins. Otherwise, I just buy whatever I like. :D

So how many pins fill up a page? How many pages in the book? Doesn't it get quite heavy or is it too small to be overly packed?

The bag I have is the "35 Magical Years: WDW" version. It has 4 pages; 8 pages all told when you count front and back. I space mine out a bit, but I usually do rows of 5 for average size pins. I've only put pins I got in WDW in it. I actually need to get a separate bag for Mail Order, DS, and eBay pins. Thought I had more room left than I do, but looking at it now, nope. I have a few Piece of History pins that I keep separate on their cards, and jumbo pins, but otherwise everything goes in here. This is how mine is set up:

Page 1a: 15 pins (2 from 2004; 13 from 2005)
Page 1b: 12 from 2006
Page 2a: 15 from 2007
Page 2b: 23 from 2008
Page 3a: 7 more from 2008 (WAY over my pin budget that trip!)
Page 3b: 18 from 2009 (still missing a few that I've misplaced)
Page 4a: 2010 pins; haven't counted them yet, since I haven't put them in the bag yet.
Page 4b: Whenever our next WDW trip is, those pins will go here.

It does get kind of heavy, but when you don't have wall or table space to display things like shadowboxes or frames, the bags are helpful. I never take it on trips; just add my new pins each year sometime after I get home. Very few of my pins are of the smaller, Hidden Mickey/"Spend x amount of $ and get a pin for a $1" variety, so it holds a decent amount of pins, all things considered. 90, front and back of 3 pages, with still room for about 8-10 more on 3a.

Only thing I don't like about it is sometimes the pin backings slip off inside the velcroed-shut pages, and you open the bag to find pins falling out of it. Kind of a pain to get the pins in place to begin with, particularly when one side of the page already has pins on it. Probably wouldn't be a problem with the sturdier backs, though.

Interesting SorcererDonald16! Maybe some time you could post a pic of your pin collection? That would be cool to see. Speaking of shadowboxes, have you seen the Creative Disney Crafting thread in the Anything Else topic? Here is a link... viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6509

Sure, hopefully in the next week or so I will get some free time and can take some pics of my pins/the pin bag. Probably won't have my new pins in there yet though; lot going on at the moment.

Thank you for the thread recommendation! I'll be checking that out now! :D

I also collect pins but I only can call 18 pins my own. I keep them in a kind of book which was a gift from friends living in Jacksonville.

Here is one half of them

The quality of the pics is not so good, I took them with my Ipod Touch. :donald: is my fav Character so I focus on Donaldpins. The Mickeypin next to the bad boy Donald was also a gift from a friend who is a CM at Downtown Disney. Its a Cast Member exclusive Pin and I will never give it away.
