Impressive!! I would like to request a photo of the hole in the wall brekkie taco though...those things must be tasty if they are part of each episode
Thinking I might have to share this episode with my Cali brother as well. He is quite the hobby woodworker and perhaps I could con him into making me something Mickey shaped too

Yes, absolutely. Cabinets and trim were my specialty.Jacca5660 wrote:WOW!! Where you a carpenter in a past life?
Now I'm a government bureaucrat, so I only get to do carpenter stuff as a hobby.

Tripod and a timer? Hey they sometimes call me.............I can't say that here! What was i thinking!Mousekedude wrote:I wondered if anybody would ever ask that!boilerbabe wrote:..This might be a silly question...how are you getting the pics. of yourself?!?!I use a tripod, and the timer. Works pretty good! Of course, I don't take the tripod to the Man Zone Toy Store; I just set the camera on something.

Did you really do carpentry M-dude? You do seem to know what you are doing. Government bureaucrat now huh? Explains the day off in the middle of the week

I figured you were using a timer on your camera but wondered about some of the long shots. You might lose your camera if you were that far away from it by our Man Zone Toy store

Yeah M-dude... how many weird looks do you get from the people in the MZTS that see you posing with a piece of lumber?

Re: Creative Disney Crafting
Yes, I really did. All my life. My dad was a general contractor and started teaching me the trade when I was little. I helped him build our house when I was 12, and actually did most of the framing layout myself. I was a journeyman-level carpenter by 16, a foreman at 18, a project superintendent at 21, and running my own company by 28. But I got out of the construction business about 9 years ago and have worked for the local government ever since.Amy wrote: Did you really do carpentry M-dude? You do seem to know what you are doing. Red, white and blue might make something pretty" Let's make it a holiday and take the day off!

Don't be hatin' on me for my day off!

Believe me, I'm careful about setting that camera down anywhere that I can't reach it within a couple seconds. I make sure to only do it when there's no one else around. Besides, I'd be too embarrassed to let anyone see me taking pictures of myself. They might think I'm some kind of freak (no comments from you, Jacca!).

NaCler, there was this one babe in a Corvette that was giving me a weird look, but I didn't care what she thought anyway....

Yep... at this stage in our lives the opinions/thoughts of babes in sporty cars don't mean that much to us anymore...Mousekedude wrote:NaCler, there was this one babe in a Corvette that was giving me a weird look, but I didn't care what she thought anyway....

Re: Creative Disney Crafting
Believe me, there is no hatred, only jealousy!! I worked one place that had an extra hour tacked onto M-Th which made F into a 1/2 day. That was nice! And I really miss the fire schedule of 24 hours on - 48 off. Even though I usually was teaching on my days off, sometimes there was an awesome 24 or 48 hours off all to myselfMousekedude wrote:Don't be hatin' on me for my day off!I work a "four-ten" schedule, which means I work 10-hour days, so I get my 40 hours in four days and one day off. I leave my house for work at 5:00 a.m. and don't get home until 5:30 p.m., so it's a grueling work schedule.... but the day off in the middle of the week is definitely worth it. Of course, I don't often get to "play" on my day off... Mouseoholic usually has a list of "honey-do's" for me.

Ummm, wouldn't this shadow box kinda be part of the honey-do list? Even if it is, it looks like you are having fun doing it. And we are enjoying reading about it!
I would probably offer to take a picture for someone if I saw them out in public trying to use a self-timer...but that is just me. I might wonder a little but the helpful side of me would win out over the "what in the heck is he taking pictures of himself in the man zone store for anyway?!" vibe

And now I am going to have to go back and look at the pictures again and see which one you took when the vette chick was looking. Something tells me I will be able to pick it out from the little extra flex in the pecs

I think you're right mindflipper! To build a house now I think all you have to do is open the catalog, pick out your house, and have it delivered to the building site in a few weeks...mindflipper wrote:OMG!!!![]()
