It is nice to be self-employed but then again, while I am on vacation there is no vacation paycheck either. No work ~ no pay :(
We are not staying anywhere fancy like all you lucky folks. We will be at the All-Star Music resort which is new for us. We have stayed at the Caribbean Beach a few times and the last few times we went we stayed at the All-Star Sports. We really don't spend any time at the resort except for sleeping so it just doesn't make any sense to spend more for the accommodations. I did look at Coronado Springs while we were booking but it looked like a different version of Caribbean Beach and it was over $1000 more.
We'll be there for 10 nights. Hopefully 11 full days but that still depends on the airline ticket times. We actually are leaving a few days earlier than we planned but we had to arrive no later than 12/2 or not again until 12/10 to get in on the free dining plan.
Our longest trip was something like 12 or 14 days. We took a few tours that time, plus I think we went to another Orlando based attraction, and had time to settle and just "live" in the magic. I'm hoping this time will be similar but I know we are both older and one of us moves slower than we used to :(

I was trying to sort that out in my head just today. We've been to DL the last several Disney visits but I'm thinking the last trip to WDW was either in 2000 or 2002. We do have a brick to go visit and one of those silver pictures on the tombstones in front of Spaceship Earth I'm hoping they are holding up ok. The brick is waaaaaaaaaay out on the walkway toward, hmmm, not sure what resort that is toward. I'm sure someone can help me out. As you are facing the EPCOT entrance and go toward the left you are going toward???? Anyhow, it is out there. I got it for my birthday shortly after my father passed away so I chose to put all of our names on it so the whole family could live together forever at the world :D (or until they rip the pavers out and replace them with something else)

I'm so sorry about the passing of your father Amy. That is so sweet that you put all of your names on the paver.

And nice job putting the fact that you have a tombstone pic. to visit in very small letters, you can't sneak that past us! Hmmm....facing left at the entrance of Epcot?! I'm not sure which resort that's leading to for your paver?! Wow, it's been a while since you were to WDW then, should be super fun then to see everything that has changed!

Man... now I feel cheated as I'm only staying 3 nights. It's all I can get away for!

Amy - There is NOTHING wrong at all with staying at the All Star resorts. I have stayed there many times and think it's the best option for us when staying for a long time. Any news on ADR's since you have the Dining Plan???

Well, it is just the quick service plan since we are staying at a Value resort. So we probably won't have any ADR's although I might try for a lunch ADR at Le Cellier so Mom can have the soup, and also maybe one at Via Napolis for the pizza...mmmmm! We like to explore on a whim so I just don't think ADR's will work. The meet and greet is definitely on the schedule though :D

I hear ya Amy, we do not like to be tied down by a-bunch of ADR's. We pick a few favorites and wing the rest. Mmmmmmm, chicken wings. Sorry, Hommer moment.

Would that be a Homer Simpson moment, by chance?

Wow, sounds like a fun trip! The most days we've ever stayed at wdw is 4 - but we tend to take more mini trips than larger longer trips.

Amy - We love the value resorts, they are really fun. We've stayed at all of them now, but our favorite is Pop Century. Music would probably be the runner up though. We like to stay at more expensive resorts of course, but sometimes its hard to justify the cost.

I'm okay with that - I don't have to share a room with Boilerdude later that night (sorry, B-babe, he's your husband...)

I remember down at Purdue I had this Mo-Fo Atomic Burger. It had jalapenos, jalapeno / pepper jack cheese, and their special Mo-Fo sauce. Burned off both ends if you know what I mean.

B-Babe would not approve of this on this trip :D
