And no, this is the other, (original) SubSonic Chernabog. But I understand the confusion.

Do you dress in costume when you go?

the dinner buffet/"clambake" isn't bad at the yacht club. don't recall if you ended up getting the dining plan or not. they did just recently (this week) offer a new set of dates for a new free dining offer. it is available for dates from early october (2010) thru next (2011) september. otherwise at boardwalk, the bell vue lounge supposedly offers coffee/pastries in the a.m., drinks in pm. with a 1930's ambience and old radio shows. thought about checking this one out myself during our upcoming october trip. we usually stop by boardwalk one night to just walk around. we've done the dueling pianos in the past and were not overly impressed. there's better ways to spend your time.Chernabog wrote:Big news, we have upgraded to the Boardwalk Villas!! If anyone has any info that is helpful and/or we can take advantage of while staying at this location, please let me know! We are going in early Oct.
I know we are walking distance from EPCOT & maybe HS, I know we are next to Yacht & Beach Club, I am aware odf Beaches & Cream. Any other helpful hints, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated!!
Good to know! It's one of our dining reservations for when we go in October.boilerbabe wrote:We did the clam bake at Cape May's on our previous visit and really loved it!!!
jelly rolls is the name of the place where the dueling pianos i spoke of are. perhaps i'm biased for not caring for this place. we went here before we had children. my wife had too many of their giant oversized house drinks (i forget the name now) and was sick the rest of the evening. puking in the bushes in front of children at the downtown disney bus stop is not exactly a cherished disney memory. i am interested in hearing about the movie at the beach. i did not know about this one. sounds similar to what they do at fort wilderness, which is actually alot of fun, and probably w/out the bugs as a bonus.disneylizzy wrote:

The passholder rates came out this week, so we're definitely going in October. The dates for us are Oct 24-29.
A few tips about staying at the Boardwalk.
The Beach Club does movies on the beach in the evenings with a smores roast.
Don't miss out on the performers on the boardwalk later in the evening.
You can easily walk to Fantasia Gardens minigolf from your resort.
Also for a fun adults night out, Jellyrolls is good.
When the MK does fireworks (like for Hallowishes for example) you can see them from the Boardwalk, so maybe check outside around firework time.
I've actually have closed the clam bake. They were breaking down the buffet and asked what I was still eating. I told them to leave the clams and they would need more oysters. Baloo finale made me leave, she said I ate over 8 dozen clams, they were real small!!boilerbabe wrote:We did the clam bake at Cape May's on our previous visit and really loved it!!!
Didn't that many crustaceans make you ill?!Jacca5660 wrote:I've actually have closed the clam bake. They were breaking down the buffet and asked what I was still eating. We have a restaurant here with all you can eat oysters and I for one will second that eating an enormous amount of shellfish, in my case raw shellfish, sounds like a bad idea but I've never had a problem. Then again I've never had 8 dozen...maybe 2 + sushiAmy wrote:Didn't that many crustaceans make you ill?!Jacca5660 wrote:I've actually have closed the clam bake. I would bet that Germany does have the best beer...If I started there with the 1 liter beer though I would probably be piddling around the world instead of drinking around the worldMr.ToadWildRider wrote:...By the way "drinking around the world" is grossly overrated. It ends up costing like $100+ per person if you're serious about it and as I'm sure many of you know that's because each drink is vastly overpriced. My g/f paid like $9.00 for what seemed like a 2 oz. pour of some cheapo wine at the Italian vendor. That was the most annoying of the stops. The best is still Germany imo. Especially if you go inside the Biergarten. $13 for a beer but it's really good, really dark, and really big (1 liter) mmmmmm. Something about getting a beer that feels like it weighs 5 pounds when it first comes out is satisfying.

Jacca, check your reading glasses old man, I said piddling "around" the world, not "in" the world showcase lagoonJacca5660 wrote:Amy, DUDE has the lake covered!!Amy wrote:I would bet that Germany does have the best beer...If I started there with the 1 liter beer though I would probably be piddling around the world instead of drinking around the worldMr.ToadWildRider wrote:...By the way "drinking around the world" is grossly overrated.
