It seems like the type of place that we would have to try it once and then hard to say whether or not it would be a repeat for us?!

According to my brother, the large pie -- 27 dollars was enough for two people. They have a larger pie called a half meter which he saw people get and finish with 4 adults. He did say the menu is pretty big and the food was great!

As a point of comparison, a regular pie from a local pizza place here in Brooklyn, NY is at least $14.

Is that the pizza that you have to fold up to eat it?! ;)

I too have wondered how this would be handled with the Dining Plan. I assume one pizza would take up 2 TS credits...just like ordering a pizza for room service is at some of the resorts. That is the only way I can see it working out for Disney. Is that a good deal? Heck no. But I guarantee people will still do it.

Can any one post a link to an online resource that has Via Napoli's menu?

Thanks for posting that, theBIGyowksi!

Where they kicked out Alfredo's and replaced it with an Olive Garden knock-off, Via Napoli reminds me of a Carrabba's knock-off. I wonder how much is true Italian and how much is "Italian-inspired"? :?: :?

From what we learned at the D23 presentation, they are pretty serious about sourcing their ingredients. The mozzarella is shipped from Italy, the water is brought it from somewhere in the USA where the mineral content is similar to Naples, and they are using a specific tomato type, although at the moment I can't remember which one. Serious thought was given to the construction of the ovens so that they would produce a crust that was crisp on the outside, but bubbled properly on the inside so it remained chewy (that's where the mineral content comes in). There is really a focus on fresh Itingredients, which is something that you will not find at the chain restaurants and their processed food.

I haven't been there yet, so I can't comment from my own experience, just what I've heard.

Italian food is regional, like everwhere else in the world, so dishes from one region may not be common/popular in another. But from what I've seen and from what I know, (my father's family is Italian, though not from Naples), it is what I would consider to be authentic Italian.

We may go here someday but not in the immediate future.

We like our pizza deep dish as a rule so there's no way we'd spend that kind of $$$ on a thinner (true Italian style) crust. But its still nice to have the variety available!

If you want to see what it is like...go check out Lou Mongello's podcast video on Via Napoli. He did a great job showing the inside as well as sampling some of the food. Lou is about as Italian as you can get...so he is a good critic of Italian food...and he was blown away by what he tasted.

I am a pizza addict and proud of it! It's probably a result of living less than a mile from several pizza places while I was in college. I love a good Italian-style pizza the most and so this new restaurant has me excited!

When we go on a multi-day trip, we generally have at least one high-dollar meal (Le Cellier, Coral Reef, etc.) I guess next time it'll be Via Napoli (although I've got to try Fulton's Crab House one of these days!)
