We still want to get to Le Cellier someday.....
I've always wanted to try the famous Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby. Plus I think it would be fun to try just because it is such a famous restaurant in the "real" world. But having read the reviews on here, I'm not sure it would be worth the money :(
I really can't say that it is worth the money, sadly.
You've tried it?! It just sounds so tasty...

No, not the Cobb Salad, I just meant Brown Derby was not worth the money in our opinion. I actually can't remember what I had there...must not have been that memorable. I just remember they gave B-dude and I champagn and strawberries b/c it was our Honeymoon! :D

Well I've never eaten at the Brown Derby because of a prohibitive price for what all accounts seem to indicate is merely mediocre to good food. With that being said none of the 3 in-park signature dining options seem to be worthy of such a title as I explained about Le Cellier earlier and having also eaten at Cinderella's which I found to be outright substandard food. Ironically, the only one of the 3 I understand being signature is Cinderella's, despite the poor food, simply because of its location- it's in the most signature spot on property for goodness sakes.

It's been years since I've eaten there and maybe it just seemed better as a child but if EPCOT wanted signature dining I think it'd be more deserved at the Coral Reef. Especially as I'm not sure how the restaurants at the WS pavilions are handled as the pavilions are under the authority to some extent of the host country, no?

i agree w/ the overall consensus on signature restaurants. especially cinderella's castle which i found to be the most shameful ripoff at even a single dining credit. insult to injury receiving 2 credits for this unimaginative, poor fare served by possibly the worst wait staff in all wdw. now to switch from the negative, i have heard of, but have not yet tried a signature that supposedly has great food and is deserving of it's title. narcoossee's (by many reviews i've read) is supposed to be great. in fact i've never read a negative review of it. these were outside sites, i've come to regard the opinion of subsonic bloggers more highly than elsewhere. so if anyone has eaten at narcoossee's, i'd be interested to know if all the hype is true.

I ate at Narcoossee's when I was like ~8-12 years old (14-18 years ago) and all I remember is my dad ordered an ice cream dish that was "Free if you finish" but it was literally like a giant fishbowl filled with ice cream and various toppings. It must've been about 10 scoops of ice cream easy. He didn't finish but it wasn't that big of a deal because it was included anyway because it was the year my parents splurged and did the Golden Key to the Kingdom or something like that.

I had ADRs to Narcoossee's for my upcoming trip...but changed them because I wanted to spread out my FREE dining credits. The biggest thing you have to look at is if it would cost more to pay for it yourself...or use the dining credits. You have to assume that , to break even, you would need your meal to cost around $26 if it was one credit. So now double that...and your meal would need to cost $52 to be worth it...and that does not count adult beverages or appetizer. That is the reason I canceled the ADR that I had to Narcoossee's because even if it is amazing...I wouldn't be able to eat there and justify using dining credits that could be used in two other nice restaurants.

And FWIW...I can totally understand a resort having a signature restaurant...but having one in a park just seems silly to me.

Where is narcoossee's? Is it at one of the resorts or in one of the parks?
I'm not sure if California Grill is a signature resturaunt, but I know it takes two TS to eat there. It was well worth it, though. Especially if you reserve a table around the time of the MK fireworks. Food was very good, service was great, too.

Narcoossee's is in the Grand Floridian. Yes...I believe the California Grill is a signature restaurant. I went there last year to watch Wishes! and it was amazing. The angle you are at is a bit odd, but it's still beautiful and it's fun getting to watch the castle be lit up and change colors throughout the night. Also cool seeing Tomorrowland all lit up as well from up there.

I had some of the best sushi I have ever had at California Grill.

I think it all boils down to opinion, obviously. We ate at Cinderella's Royal Table on our last visit, I hadn't eaten there since I was a child, so I could not remember what it was like. We absolutely loved it! No, I would not eat there every single trip, but would def. go back. You first get to meet Cinderella then go upstairs to where your table awaits you. We were not rushed like we had heard, we thought the food was great and we had the most fabulous dessert there! The wait staff was great too. They even gave me a Princess wand. Which I thought was funny since I'm obviously a big kid. I used it to bop B-dude on the head for the rest of the day!!! He really enjoyed that!

Correct, Narcoossee's is at the GF. We are crazy about this restaurant and go there for special occaisons. The food has always been outstanding when we've eaten there and we love the fact that they pipe the music in for the fireworks and you can watch the light pageant on the weater just by stepping out onto the deck. My mom even loves this restaurant and you have no idea how hard it is to please this dear woman when it comes to eating. She's extremely picky, and she gave it two thumbs up. :D I would highly recommend this place if your celebrating something special or are just treating yourself to a nice dinner! They can also do the little cakes there, for B-days etc....they are delicious!

hmmm...b-babe you are making me almost want to go to Narcoossee's now. We did not cancel the ADR we made since it did not require a credit card...so we could technically still go there. The main reason we decided to opt out was so we could watch Wishes! from the MK. I have never seen Wishes! from the MK because I have always been eating at a monorail resort restaurant during that time. It's crazy I know...and weird to think that I have never seen it from the park itself. So we are making an effort to fix that in a few weeks. I assume the summer fireworks will be done after this weekend...so we will go back to the normal Wishes!...correct?

Just to answer an earlier question, California Grill is signature.

So yowski, couldn't you eat before or after Wishes? Then you could do both. :)

I think Wishes starts up again on August 15th, so it will be there for your trip.

I can check to see if they have any ADRs before the one we currently have. I made the specific ADR so we could watch Wishes! there...but changed my mind later that I wanted to watch it from the park instead.

I wonder if they would let us have an ADR and just get an appetizer and some wine...

Ok...looks like the ADR for Narcoossee's is at 6:55 PM. Do you think we could do something simple like wine and an appetizer and be back in the park before Wishes?

When we dine at Narcoossee's we tend to take our time, so I know it's always taken over an hour. Just my opinion, but it would seem to be a shame to only par take in the appetizers at Narcoossee's. The food is fantastic! :D But, if it means you don't go at all, then do the appetizer/wine thing and you should be able to make it back to the park for Wishes. They start at 9, correct?!
