:? I mean a proper Micky Mouse Medal. Not the 2011 medal.
It's all about the bling :D
Indeed...it is all about the bling. Anyone could go and run/walk 13.1 miles...but I do it for the hardware. I have two Donalds already. I want a Mickey and eventually a Goofy! :goofy_bounce:

 You guys are funny! Good luck to all of you! I truly admire anyone who can get through a half marathon, let alone a full marathon!

We just did a measly 1 mile walk a few weeks ago and that's about our speed at this point!

That great that you were able to do that! Especially in the summer ~ ugh, the heat this year has been awful :(

Well said B-dude, we all have a story. And no matter what distance we go or what mode we use whether it be run, walk, bike swim, etc....it's an accomplishment! I have loved running ever since high school cross country. I have had my share of injuries and issues. A little over a year ago, I was unable to run for over a year. My phys. therapist told me I would be lucky if I ever ran a 5K again! This is a huge blow to a distance runner. I refused to give up, that is my fav. saying "Never Give Up" I would not hang up my shoes. I am currently back up to 10K (6.2 miles) pain free! I'm currently training for an 8 miler that is coming up next month. And I will run another 1/2 someday, hopefully in Disney!!! I know my limits, and for me a marathon is just not in the cards, I'm not a natural born runner. I am just thankful to be running again, I don't come in first but I'm never last either. My dad and I always bump fists before each race and say "Start/Finish". I'm one of those crazies that truly enjoys running, each race I run with my dad is a blessing! Running is my therapy!

Sorry to ramble....here is a pic. of my Disney medals and the ToT medal. My Disney medals are my most prized medals, they are all special to me!

Nice story b-babe. Very inspirational :D Love the photos of the medals too ~ I can see why you and Joe90 are a little disappointed by the 2011 marathon medal :(

I currently run 6 miles in my lunch hour every day and 10-15 miles both Saturday and Sunday. When I started running again in late 2008 I could only manage 400 yards :( It has been long and painful.

If you run another half at Disney I might just come with you.
First day of a :goofy_bounce: would be best.

Is Donald always the half marathon, Mickey the full marathon, and Goofy both the half and full marathons?
I would have to run the Figment challenge since it would take a lot of imagination to see me running for any length of time!!

Yes...Donald is always the half...and so on.

Minnie gets her own half marathon later in the year.

   That's the race I'd be signed up for!!!!

Those are some awesome medals!!! We earned our first medals by participating in a non-Disney 1 mile fun run/walk while in CA last month. I know I'm totally dragging my feet on getting the TR together and the pictures, but it's been crazy since we've been back. I will get it out soon...plus there's a pic of our medals there. :D It's an accomplishment for sure! We felt so good after earning the medal!

Of course you can join me if I ever run another 1/2!

I like the 2009 Donald, he's cool looking! The Minnie Medal I have was from the Minnie Marathon, it was a 15K and is now a 1/2 as well.
