It can be green and cold at the same time during the winter in central Florida. I remember that Orlando and Gainesville has not even a breeze during the summer, but during the winter can have some nasty cold winds. It's green and sunny, but there's that winter wind that just slaps you in the face. I understand why she's so well-bundled up in that gear. :D

Exactly right, Mindflipper. The actual temperature was in the mid thirties when I took that picture, and there had even been some frost in the wee hours prior to that. But the wind chill was in the low twenties! We about froze to death on that Segway tour! But it was still worth it, of course!

I'll break them down so that each "side" of a park has one:

MK: PotC/HoP (Okay so Hall isn't quite on the other side of the park- I guess I may say the WEDWay then; even though it's outside it's always generating a cool breeze).
EPCOT: Ellen's/Impressions du (?) France
DHS:Star Tours/GMR/One Man's Dream
AK: Hmm....I have to go with ITTBAB and Nemo if you're luck enough to get in without waiting 30 minutes outside.

I had found if I was crazy enough to go during the summer months to get heat relief by going into the Hall of Presidents at MK or the American Adventure at EPCOT. It's air-conditioning, you get to sit down, and feel all patriotic at the same time. :D  :mickey:

Maybe we should have an "Escape the Cold" thread too:)

Found a great place to escape the heat this weekend at Epcot.

Enter the Japan pavillion from the entrance closer to the America side (i.e. left side of the lagoon if you're facing away from SSE) and go into the special exhibit there. It is ice cold and there are bench seats. You can enjoy the exhibit and also cool off big time. Another plus is that very few people go in there so you'll probably have it to yourself.

I actually remember going in there and enjoying the cool once. And you were right, it was fairly deserted...

We recently returned from a mid-July trip and found the following sources for heat releif were both effective, and generally not as busy as some other attractions throughout the World in the theme parks:

MK - Philharmagic - often little wait, and nicely air-conditioned (close runner-up - Carousel of Progress)
EPCOT - Ellen's Energy Adventure - 40 minutes of air-conditioned, sit-down bliss
DHS - Muppet Vision - often little wait (close runner-up - Great Movie Ride)
AK - Tough To Be a Bug - it's cold inside that tree

It was certainly a science to know when to get some relief from the heat, find places to sit and get away from the crowds, while also entertaining the kids (DD13 and DS11), especially considering the resort pools at Beach Club were well into the mid-to-high 90s - not so refershing...
Can't get back to WDW soon enought, but alas, no immediate plans...

I always use the carosel of progress to cool off and the haunted mansion is a good one ot you have that whole tour kind of thing and you get plenty of time to cool off avoid fantasy land during the hotest part of the day is my best advice most of that stuff like peter pan doesnt really get you cool thats what we do
