Maybe the ToT effects will be held over by popular demand too :D
From what I have heard from others...the changes made to ToT did not make the ride all that much better.

I have no problem with an extended run, and I'm pretty excited to see it next week. I haven't seen it in years, but I'm a huge spectromagic fan, hopefully that will be coming back.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm a little bummed that they're keeping MSEP.

I think its kind of outdated & just personally I like Spectromagic much better. Also MSEP seems shorter than Spectro.

Too bad they're taking away the Nightastic fireworks, those I liked!

I liked the nightastic fireworks, but there is something really nice and sentimental about Wishes that makes it seem like a better all-around show.

You and I both might be in the minority on this one. I absolutely love Spectro. However, the music to MSEP does become quite catchy. As for the length I do believe Spectro is longer. It takes Spectro about 20 minutes to pass through. When we saw MSEP it took about 22 minutes to pass but that included the 5 minutes it took to get the tow tractor to tow the Mine Train float off of the tracks that it got stuck on.

BB: The effects did nothing to the thrill of the attraction. It was some cheesy projections that I found to be nothing spectacular.

Actually, the original MSEP at WDW was far shorter than the current DEP/MSEP at WDW this summer. The original MSEP at WDW did not have Captain Hook's Pirate Ship and Seven Dwarfs' mine & mine-cars. But all the WDW parades seem shorter in comparison to TDL or DLP parades.

You are also forgetting the Tink float at the beginning. I honestly think 20 minutes is about the perfect length of time for a parade. I feel that anything more and it just might start gettting drawn out.

I really like the MSEP music but nothing quite compares to that swell of music at the start of Spectro!

The Tinkerbell float was substituting for the Blue Fairy Float - or did they move that float to somewhere else in the parade? I didn't see any pics of it in your parade pics. If not, it's just an even swap.

I am excited its staying longer. We are going in December and I was hoping to be able to see it. I didn't think they would move it over for just the 3 months of summer. All I have ever seen is Spectro and I like it well enough.

Actually, the pirate float isn't new. I believe it was there the last time it came to the Magic Kingdom

The last time they had MSEP several years there it was also "borrowed" from Disneyland, so you're having the same floats now as you did back then during its last special engagement return. The original WDW version - which got shipped off to Euro Disney (now DLP) long time ago - did not have Hook's pirate ship. It got added to DLP's parade when spare floats from TDL's EP got shipped there after TDL switched to Fantillusion.
